Just got my HO mani on and I'm using the 2.3 TB but I don't have the 2.3 throttle bracket. Is it possible to modify the 2.4 bracket to fit? Looks like all I need to do is drill a small hole in the bracket to get it to fit. Also, is it necessary to use the bottom studs to mount the HO mani? Got the 5 bolts on tight but its difficult getting in there to tighten those studs.

take the studs off and throw some bolts in there, you should be able to use the 2.4 braket just enlarge the holes on the bracket. Im not sure about that cause my TB came with a bracket.
Alright well I'm going to see if I can get the 2.4 bracket to fit otherwise I'll need that bracket Chris.

WTF? Just redrill the hole in the 2.3 tb where the throttle cable hooks up and it will fit nicely... I'm not sure I see the problem?
2.3L tb > 2.4L tb.

The problem is that on the 2.3 TB the hole where the cable hooks up is farther down than the one on the 2.4 TB. I drilled out the hole on the 2.4 bracket so that the bracket fits tight to the 2.3 TB however there is not enough slack in the cable to reach the hole in the 2.3 TB wheel. I think its because the 2.4 bracket is about an inch higher than the 2.3 bracket, that's why it doesn't reach. Unless there is some way to detach the throttle wheel and rotate it 180 degrees, which seems very unlikely, I need to get a 2.3 bracket. Unless your saying that I need to redrill a new hole in the throttle wheel, than thats another story.

That's odd because after my swap, my cable had to much slack, I had to bend my bracket to take up some of it... and my pedal sits lower in the car... yet my tb opens completely.
Keep in mind that I ditched my cruise control when I did my engine swap... is it the cruise control throttle that is too short?

Both the cruise and the throttle are too short.

after re-reading, I think I understand your concerns.
Yes I did re-drill the holes from the 2.4 bracket and re-use it. Then you can re-drill the stock 2.3 cable "hole" for the bigger 2.4 cable to fit and you're set.

I redrilled the cable hole but the cable does not reach the hole with the 2.4 bracket.

I also by accident cracked the outer metal casing on the throttle line when re-routing it, the cable is fine but I'm hoping it's ok and I don't have to replace the line. Will I see any problems with this?

doubtful, try a couple routing options with your throttle cable, it seemed to help me...but its been awhile since I've done the swap...couple years my memory is kinda fuzzy on it.
I think I'm going to call up the GM dealership and see if I can get throttle bracket for a 95 2.3 Z24. Hopefully this will solve my cable reach problem. Does anyone know the part number for this bracket? It would help if I knew it advance so they don't have to go looking it up.

Ok I called the GM dealership and they don't have the throttle bracket listed as a part number so looks like I need to get it either from a junk yard or from someone off the org. Also what kind of wrench did you guys use to reach those lower studs, I can't seem to get a good grip on them even with a lower extension.

I put the HO mani and Throttle body on with my 2001 Z24 cable bracket. I had to drill one hole bigger on the bracket, bolted it down and since the throttle cable wouldnt reach all the way around the wheel I just cut away the plastic and metal sheathes and slid down the plastic clip. Took a couple tries to get the length just right and I still havent fixed the Cruise cable, but I imagine it is due to the same issue. Good luck!
i used the 2.4 throttle cable bracket and my throttle cable reached just fine. IT presses into the top of the radiator hose, so I hafta figure out someway to get around that. Also, i had to slot out one hole and drill the other on bigger to make the bracket fit.
