rod bearings and balance shaft

ok so i need to change my rod bearings in my 97 cavalier z24 5 speed and was wondering I know a freind of mine took his balance shaft out of his dodge spirt and was wondering if i can take mine out with out any problems??? When i change my rod bearings do i need to change my oil pump ???? please help out thanks

doing rod bearings with out machine work is not a good idea

and cause for more problems

the balance shafts are part of the oil pump

so i have to get crank work done no matter what i mean even if the crank isnt gouged or scord or damaged ???? and is it a hard job to do ???
