I just bought a resinator for my car... what i want to know is would pipe clamps work or do i have to get it welded in place???

Pipe clamps are only a temporary fix. you better off in the long run just having it welded in

Not to mention, clamps have a nasty way of slipping, and a resonator/glasspack isn't the lightest thing in the world, so that might cause bunches of sagging among other bad things...
