ps header gasket

i have the ps header 4-1. ive notice that the gasket only has4 openings compared to a stock one from felpro or w.e which has 4 plus another one on the end. does it matter if it has it or not? its for a 97 cav 2.4l

Don't use the paper gasket that the header comes with. Use a stock or felpro. They are WAY better. The paper gaskets that come with the header leak all the time.

LOL I don't think I'll ever use anything other than FelPro for that kinda gasket.

i agree with them but i have used the one that came with it and even removed the header once and put it back on with the same gasket and no issues yet.
but FelPro is the way to go for any gaskets honestly

my pacesetter gasket fell apart when I removed the header, after only 1500 miles....

I have the old style flange, and cant really use the MLS exhaust gasket (felpro, GM).... till I get the flange milled down (it has raised areas around the ports)..... or maybe I'll try it the way it is...

my question is still not answered. ive notice that the gasket only has 4 openings compared to a stock one from felpro or w.e which has 4 plus another one on the end. does it matter if it has it or not?

the one at the end is for the EGR. i would say that since you have a 97 you need to just punch a hole for it.

Ill make a sig someday

Yes, it definitely matters.

DO NOT go punching holes in anything! Do that, and you're asking for trouble soon down the road. Just do the right thing and get a new FelPro exactly for your car. $8 at the most. Look at it before you pay for it, and make sure it has the EGR on the side. Then you're set!

Just buy the correct Felpro replacement gasket for your car. It'll save you a hassle and exhaust leaks.

they didn't said felpro suck...... I kept the stock gasket when I installed mine, but it's wiser to get a new one when you have some mileage on your car..
