I just got done installing it on my Cav, and I must say I am really impressed. It doesn't have a resonator, and doesn't seem to really need one. The tone is nice and throaty without any buzzing or raspiness. With the silencer out, it can get quite loud at full throttle, but with the silencer in, it still sounds good and quiets it down more than enough. The finish, bends, and welds are really top notch too. It has a lot of extra clearance around the rear twist beam so it can be installed on lowered cars like mine without any problems. My only complaints are the lap joint, and that the rear hanger was completely wrong. I took to the local exhaust shop and the guy cut it off and tig-welded a new one in its place, and tig-welded up the lap joint. I'll try to get some pictures of the system installed on my car up soon.
Cool get pics.i plan to ge this catback this summer hopefully.. Where did u get it Ebay? Cuz thats the only place i have found it for sale. Also can u get some sound clips possible? and some vids with drive bys and what not?
Yeah, I got it off of ebay. I don't have any way to get sound clips or vids since I don't have a video camera, just a regular digital camera. But it does sound really nice and extremely deep. Even my neighbors and the guys at the exhaust shop even made some positive comments about it.
I've seen these before and they are really pretty. Apparently they sell like crazy. They are 2.5" right? Not 2.25"?
From what i know they are 2.5 Was it easily bolt on? Can u get pics of where it connects to your stock pipe or aftermarket cat?
For all you N/A guys, how's the power with the 2.5" Megan? 2.25" is commonly accepted as being the optimal size for N/A cars w/bolt ons, and 2.5" to flow better for forced induction. So just wondering how you N/A guys like the 2.5" Megan as far as performance. Did you lose some low-end power?
I didn't notice any difference between the 2.25" system I used to have , and the 2.5" Megan system. Manta Z, it was just your basic 3-bolt flange that connects to the stock cat, and it was a really easy bolt-on. I think it'll be even better once I finish my N/A motor build this spring.
Well i had my car up on the lift and i looked at my cat and it didnt look like it was a 3bolt flange.. it didnt look like it had a flange.. But i had a 2.25 Catback put on and im thinking maybe they cut it before the flange and welded it to stock pipe connected to the cat.. When i get this system i planned on adding a high Flow cat and was just gonna connect it together.. The shop has some flanges laying around in 2" and 2.5" ID that i can weld over the cat extend pipe so i might connect it that way.. I was just curious to see how it looks and how far up the flange is from teh cat.

I bet that's exaclty what they did if it was a cat-back they made custom. Then they could cut corners and not have to find a matching flange and weld it up to the pipes, then bolt it up to the converter-section, all on top of fabricating your exhaust. Just cut off the flange, and weld. Much easier.
However, if this was a cat-back system you bought form another manufacturer and then just had the shop install it, then I don't understand why they did that.
When you go to do your high-flow converter, my assumption would be to have them use the 2.5" ID flange, maybe 2.5" piping, and a 2.5 inlet+outlet converter. Hope I'm thinking that through correctly...
Someone here will be able to supply you with a picture concerning how far the flange is from the cat.
The Megan Racing catback is 2.25". It's been measured.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
gm used 2 different rear muffler mounts , that might be why it was different
if i remember the megan from the pics it has that looks like a diving board (front to back)
and the other style gm used was a rod that went in the hanger sideways (left to right )
waiting for pics

It all makes sense now

God, there was a whole thread here in the Performance Forum not too long ago about this cat-back... nobody could agree on the size. Some said 2.0", 2.25", 2.5", and some weird ones in between. Good to see someone who actually knows,

I don't doubt they just cut off the flange. When i got the Megan Racing exhaust, I was gonna tig weld the flanges onto the cat.. But i might just take it all to a exhaust shop and make sure they use flanges between teh connection of the cat and catback and what not.. So its easily removable if i need to..

$%^&, o well.. boost isnt close in the future anyway..
Still waiting for pics also
so this actually is a 2.25"? thanks for the good info so far everyone
Well, I just measured the outer diameter of the tubing with a caliper, and it is 2.375". So i guess you could say I have 2.25" inner diameter tubing. Sorry, no pics yet. I'll get some taken today when I get my 18" Silverline resonator installed.
Would there be any interest in a Megan Racing cat-back group purchase? My business officially opens on the 5th of January. Concept Motorsports!
E-mail me at semfikapp@yahoo.com if you have any questions or products you'd be interested in. Our website should be up by mid-January if we decide to use the regular cookie cutter stuff that the other performance sites use. If we go custom, it'll be late February maybe March before the site is finished because it will be on a Flash based platform and will require a lot of attention to detail.
Thanks!

^^I'd be interested depending on price..
Baby gorilla.. why u putting a resonator on it?
he lives in cali , and they have a 95db limit law
so im guessing he wants to keep it with in those limits , as well as quiet inside

That sucks.. lol.. i like living were they don't care lol.
holy big pictures batman! I thought I sized them down. Oh well.
Looks good. I definatly want to get this. That hook near teh muffler what u had to have a exhaust shop do? You gotta find someone near with a camera that can do sound vids.. and do 2 vids.. one with and one without silencer..
Yeah, i had a local exhaust shop bend up that hook and weld it on.
Did it stay there good enough for u to drive it there? for them to do the hanger?
