I searched but i must be having a slow day so i dont know but wasnt there a post about swapping an eco into a non eco car. there was a list of all of the stuff that is needed. I have heard a lots of different things about what is needed and havnt figured it out yet. I just need to know what is exzactly needed. I have a friend with a few of the motors in his garage and wants to swap one out for his 2.2

you need everything.....so with the list....it has helped lots. Im almost done w/ mine.

easiest way is to buy a junker and swap everything over

There are actually lost of posts about this. Just so you know, you can swap any 3rd gen motor into any 3rd gen vehicle, they all have the same size engine bay.

Basically, you would need the Motor, Transmission, PCM, Ignition system, Fuel system, Upper Motor Mount (Lower mount is the same)...basically, you would need everything out of the engine bay. Like snowman said, best thing for you to do is get a donor car and swap everything out.

Just a suggestion...look into getting an 03+ vehicle with an ECOTEC so you can avoid the 02 ECOTEC fuel issue.

Well thue guy got a hell of a deal on hte motors and htey have zero miles on them and he just wants to swap one in. they came with motor and tranny. and theses are the cobalt 2.2's so would they still have the fuel problems?

yea and the trans is differnt.....cause of where the mounts are. you need it to be out of a cavy or sunfire
