I'm looking into getting the lightweight flywheel and matching it up to a Centreforce Dual friction clutch. I haven't seen too many people with this flywheel and was wanting to get some feedback as far as how they liked it and driveability (this is a daily driven car). I had a buddy with a civic that had the lightened flywheel and while it was fun, it sucked in traffic.
I'm also gonna be heading towards nitrous down the road and wasn't sure if the lightweight flywheel and nitrous would be too much on the engine or if it would be a good combo.
in alot of cases at the track it actually slows you down i know it has for me

I just got my fidanza flywheel in the mail today.I got it from ebay for 305 bucks. And i got it in 2 days.Im still waiting on my act clutch that i ordered. My spec clutch took a crap on me so im staying away from them.Hopefully this weekend i'll have it installed.

I've also heard about it causing a slower time.
with a lighter flywheel you have say an 10lbs peice of metal trying to spin the clutch and make the car move, then with the stock flywheel you have a 30lbs flywheel trying to move the clutch and move the car. The heavier flywheel will have an easier time getting the car into motion. but you cant rev the car as fast as you might be able to with a 10lbs one.
Hope that helps somewhat. (its a really fur example)

i disagree..its the flywheel persay thats moving the clutch but the crank thats giving it the power...with a lighter flywheel the crank can rev faster therfor getting you to your power band faster there for making your CAR FASTER

....anyway..i have the 8lb fidanza flywheel and a 1lb crank pulley ....i LOVVEE it..car revs noticably faster..i cant wait to get the lighter crank

Hit the nail on the head. Lighter flywheel will spin the clutch faster

then you have something major wrong, and it isnt the weight of the flywheel
is anyone also running nitrous with the flywheel? how does the car respond to the combo?
Yes it will rev quicker, but it also has less inertia to keep it revving, just like Rodimus said.
The cure for the rapid drop in rpm's (if you're racing) is to just keep your foot planted in the pedal. If you shift quickly then your rpms should rise no more than 500. That's the way I see it anyways.

Be careful with those Fidanza on EBAY Jake said they are selling some on ebay that is a bad batch. Fidanza called them back but there are a few floating around so becarefull.
I have fidanza and i love it. If you search the web Fidanza is pretty good clutch and a lot of people have had excellent reviews on the internet.
On another note, i have heard more people have issues with the dual friction clutch that those who have had no problems. So watch out

...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.
I have the flywheel from ultra rev, i didn't get it through their ebay site, but from their web site, for $305. It was the cheapest one i could find from an actual business that didn't look shady. There is probably nothing wrong with theirs. They said its one of their most popular items when i called to ask why mine hadn't been shipped yet. It came shortly after that though. No problems with it, and its very good quality. Paired with my SPEC stage 2 clutch, I love it. A LOT faster/peppier car. only butt dyno though. I would recommend getting it from ultra rev. they were the cheapest when i got mine a year ago anyways.
