If you have a 2200 motor, yes, RSM Racing makes one that is specifially made to fit with an 62 MM Throttle Body. This would be very useful if your running a turbo setup.

Here is their catalog page that has it listed: RSM Racing's 2200 Catalog

however if you are ready for the big leagues, go to hogan manifolds.

rsm is basically a stock manifold. they open the lip on the top which can be done with a dremel.

i would really like to see how they are porting plastic.

i just did mine with a dremel....took the lip off to match my 56mm TB. it was easy

Art, the hogans will only fit the 95-97 2.2

Remember there is a difference, otherwise all us 95-97 guys would just swap to 2200 IMs for the top feed conversion

true, but hogan has said, if you have the money, they will make a manifold

only problem is, no one has put up, but everyone so far has shut up

well besides yourself

i have the 2.2L 96 motor. so what i'm getting is that i can get a 2200 intake and it will bolt right on? what kinda mod does the throttle cable require?

NO!

95-97 2.2 and 98+ 2200 IMs are NOT compatible

There are a few things you can do:

Mantapart makes a plenum and TB and you can port your stock runners (BUT mantapart is kinda unreliable)

Hogans IM is $1200 and is a full replacement IM with a top feed injector conversion (you would need new injector wiring harness, injectors, new throttle body, and possibly a few other things)

...i was told by the people at rsm that the 95-97 2.2liter many DOES have larger runners, not just a ported lip, and that the 2200 just has the ported lip. i was planning on buying the ported mani for my 96 2.2l. can anyone verify that info?

Ouch, 1,000 for the intake manifold at Hogans. How much difference is there between that and the RSM. I can get an RSM intake manifold for 320 and tb for 309 and still have money left for other things. They have a 62mm tb, i think its to big for n/a. RSM does not list a 59mm. Its for a 97 2.2.

If you are building a max performance turboed 95-97 2.2:L, i would say the Hogans IM in the way to go, yes its not cheap, the but gains youll get are worth the money spent.

If you have the 98+ 2200, i wouold say dont buy the RSM IM and port the lip yourself, its very easy to do, and once you have the TB off you will see. I think the 2200 IM can flow enough air to support well over 300 HP on the 2200, but if you wanted to be different you can have a Hogans manifold make for your engine, although i dont think you would see the power increase like the 95-97 engines.

^^^ true.....

besides looks for MOST people on a 2200 that would be the main reason to get it...

the manifold you have now doesnt really need to be ported until you either

A- enlarge your head ports

or

B- add a throttle body to warrant removing the lip on the opening.

1. if i go the way of the s/c what should i do for a throttle body and intake manifold?

2. if i go all motor what should i do also? as in size of bore on the t/b

all motor is in... heavy heavy all motor build? like high compression, crazy head porting, etc etc? then yes the 62mm. if you go boost, 62mm definitely.

i have a 98 2.0 ford probe intake manifold .on my 2200 ohv . it took about a week
to gind it port it polish it and install it . but i dont exactly have all the time in the world
anyway it is very similar to a civic intake mannifold look / remember anything is
possible with tools and mathematics

Do NOT go N/A with your OHV

You will be disappointed

Unless you have booku bucks

It will cost the same or less to go turbo and you will end with more hp

Trust me

depends on your goals and where you buy from.

me, i'm more than content with n/a.

after seeing how far scruf went, i have no desire to break any records or anything at the drag track.

biggest advantage for me was easy to get engine parts. the more stuff i did myself like the port and polish, etc... the less i paid overall.

but the choice is based on your goals of the car.

Turbo > All

none take, but...ok, doesnt that just reiterate what i just said?

price more or less will depend on who does most of the work, and whats done.

you build a 13 second N/A car like bryon did, might drop a few grand.. maybe 4 - 7 at most including a spare engine, etc...

your goal, from your sig and stuff, is 400whp....right? thats cool, seriously, i am waiting to see myself......like many are...... but for myself, i have no use for that. and i'll have even less of a use for that once i move from md....

my goal is to make something i can say i partly built and learned from it, and that will give another 100K + and is competitive in autoX... my 3 main points.

so like said, depends on goals

as someone else said. I am only looking for some pep in my step that will last for another 100k+

i had said in another forum: i am going for the balance of performance, sight and sound.

but with a turbo wouldn't you still have to upgrade all your internals to make it be able to handle the full potential of the turbo or s/c?

wouldn't you end spending more than me in the long run?

yeah i plan on doing as much of the work myself as i can. so i can learn about it.

and to reitterate my earlier ?

anyone know what kinda gains are expected from a hogans intake?
