Shift plus - not satisfy
Saturday, July 09, 2005 11:05 AM
I just install my shift plus and I've try it and I even check my connection again to see if it was really working.

It SEEM to shift a bit quicker but it's a waste of money IMO.

another thing is that it's screwing up my tranny. when it's off, the tranny shift from 1-3.

Worst POS that I've bought for my car.

Event - it's the only thing I have on it so it's stock. I'll check my connection again.

As for the rest, I've try it out more today and it does shift faster but nothing to be impress. The tach needle goes down faster and you can feel a small hit when it shift from 1-2. That's on setting #2. The tire don't chirp when it's shifting but I can feel the tranny shift hard. It's just not like everyone is saying. Everybody make it look like a big thing while it's more like a tranny with really old fluid.

The tranny is shifting fine too. It's my OD that engage as soon as I get on 3rd gear.

thacks - get yourself some book about Canada and read. It's not an all ENGLISH forum so some people don't talk english as there 1st language. And for my mechanical skill, I surely know more about our cars than you do about yours.

Btw, it was raining like hell and the tire didn't spin so it's not THAT great.

I have never heard anyone say that it will make you spin your wheels. That takes power.

It will chirp my tires into 2nd on a good patch of road. It helped me at the track also so I don't know what to tell you. It works great in my car.

It's working but not as much as I was thinking. I can slowly see the difference.

I'll have to redo my connection this week to be sure that everything is fine. urethane engine mount would help alot.

i was thinking you might have switched that into your racecar....my bad

for an engine mount, fill the stock with urethane. did that over a year ago and still goin strong

no the Gtz is a 5spd.

I still have warranty so I would like better buying the insert for the top one. I don't care about the lower one. It would cost more to fill my mount over here than buy the insert.

My shift-plus works great, sometimes chirps tires going into 2nd gear on setting 2.
I love it, sorry if yours doesn't have the same effect.

It is not made for our cars, but it can be adapted to work well on our cars. (It is made for rear wheel drive car & trucks. fyi)

MD - I know that.

Is it really bad to run it all the time at the 2nd setting??

I have a big problem if it's bad because now it's stuck on the 2nd setting. The switch is off and it's still shifting hard at redline (like setting #2) and even with the wire cut it's shifting hard. under 4000rpm it's fine but over that it's shifting hard.

So I need to know how to change it back to stock or is it really bad to run it like that?

I would not recommend running in level 2 setting, maybe level 1.
I have driven 4 hours on the freeway with it in the level 2 setting without any bad side affects.
Make sure your plug is firmly seated in the trans....did you turn it (right or left, can not remember direction) to lock it in place?
I am assuming you disconnected the battery already.
I also hope you did not use the supplied connectors/splicers they don't ever work right.
