or a 2.4 would work too. i just dont have much experience with this type of thing. which ever is cheapest. also if anyone is trying to sell a 2.4 engine holler at me im interested in buying.

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

Just use the money you were going to use on the swap and put a turbo kit on your 2200 instead. I know Cavalier Connection has a turbo kit for your engine, theres a lot of 2200 Turbo JBody's on here.
Wow you changed your mind really quickly, I agree with Alex...dont do a swap just turbo it and your already faster than both a Z or Ecotec.
Yeah, quick change man lol.
I thought about a motor swap as well from my 2.2L but didnt wanna hassle with it.. I think imma just build up my 2.2L from top to bottom then turbo it.. I dont have to be blazin fast.. I just wanna do it for the experience and have a nice lil get up from my usual 2.2L power hehe.

the eco usually sell for less money than the 2.4's do
a build up sounds nice 2200. i mean cheaper too. people will be like wtf has he got in that.. getting owned by a 2200 is priceless.

build your own kit... that's the cheapest way to do it.

I just finished my kit for my 2200. it's a pure bling kit though it ran me 3300.00 CDN with a brand new 600.00 turbo everything perfect and brand new .... not a junker kit..... you could probably score one if you part it together yourself for 2000.00 CDN......
Good luck....

im using my girls account shes so nice.... anyway what all do i need to make my own. please i am a total newb to this step by step from a-z would be great
problem is finding an engine.... it would just be easier in a way to turbo mine now less trouble and hassle.
im converted to actuallly turboing mine. if i coud get more info on how to do it myself.
Check out homemadeturbo.com
It is mostly Hondas, but there is a lot of good info on that board. They also have a new user FAQ that has a list of everything that you would need.
stilll using my girls account anyway. i need for info. then that but thanks for the site. im not a welder or anything so im notsure if i can do this. im a complete newb. someone please help.
ive got a 2.2L 5 spd in my 96 im gonna boost it till the motor blows build a low compression motor then boost the heck outta it. id much rather just turbo a motor then swap.. with a swap you find nothing will fit right.. it becomes difficult to find parts for it... i work at a parts store and the worse thing to hear is "its a 96 with an 03 motor in it, but it should be the same"- it rarely is
^^ exactly, but i want to know the process of actually making the turbo itself i heard its cheaper.
cheaper of course.. less frustrating no.. less time consuming no.. remember, speed is money how fast you wanna go. i could make all the necessary parts on my own but the time alone isnt worth saving a grand and a half.. the tools along with all the parts would probably equal out in the long run.. tubing benders and welding equipment.. youd have to go mig if not tig on a manifold..
but everyone works hard for their money.. i do pushin parts.. so good luck if you build one.. but dont get too upset when you figure out your only getting 3-4 psi of boost.. 1500 bux later.. just wouldnt reccomend building one for a noob in the auto industry.. anyways good luck
