New guy; oil change question.
Tuesday, September 20, 2005 6:25 AM
I just purchased a 2003 Cavalier LS this weekend. I'm sure it's been gone over many times before on here. How many quarts does this engine take? 4 or 5 quarts? I just want to make sure I get it right the first time. Thanks for your help.

It takes just a hair under 5. I usually put about 4 3/4 quarts in, do a leak-check, and then check the oil level on the dipstick. If its just under full, its good.
