My 97 Sunfire has a horrible gear lube leak. I could top if off and there would be a pool of gear lube oil beneath the car after driving it. Are there any seals prone to going out in the 5 speed transmission to the 2200 OHV motor? I've had the gear lube plug replaced and it seems pretty snug when locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check both axle seals. if the leak is at the axle seals; check for excess up and down movement from the cv axles where they go into the transaxle different case.
