I have a humming noise coming from the front drivers side area. I figured it was a wheelbearing so I replaced it. The noise is still there. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?

humming change with speed or turns? Only other thing it could be is a cv...but my guess is you got a bad bearing..ive had ones be blown from the box..
You sure it is drivers side and nbot passenger side? I had a bad wheel bearing and we thought it was the drivers side, swapped wheel bearing and nope. Finally swapped passenger side and was good.

How difficult is it to replace the wheel bearings? I have the exact same noise coming from my '95 Pontiac Sunfire. I was told to change the bearings, but which one do I replace. The noise gets louder when I turn to the left and goes "away" when I turn to the right. I also hear a kind of THUNK-THUNK noise when I come to a stop. Should I change it myself, or get a professional to do it?

changing a bearing is relatively easy, but you need a good amount of tools to do it, like axle nut sockets, etc.
stuff you may not have lying around.
I think you may be overlooking the obvious, have you checked your tires for cupping?
I have checked the wheels and they are not cupped. The noise gets louder as I turn to the right, but "goes away" when I turn left. That is what is making me think that is a wheel bearing.
