Ok, I need to know what the proper name for the tool you use to pull a fwd v6 engine foreward enough to get to the rear 3 plugs is called. You unbolt the top dogbone engine mount and put this in place of it. From what I remember it's kinda like a triangle shape with a threaded rod through it so when you turn the rod it pulls the two plates towards each other thus "rocking" the engine foreward for more clearance to access the rear plugs so you have more leverage to get them out. I'd like to find one of these because nobody rents them at the parts stores. Maybe this is a gm thing for dealerships only?? Changing the rear plugs on a grand prix 3800 series. Any help is greatly appreciated.
crow bar- any hardware store.
On a W body with a 3800 you dont have to shift the engine. If you still want to though then get a tie down strap and a prybar
I used a come-a-long and the bumper of my dads truck to tilt the engine forward in my old 89' Grand Prx.
