Ok Finally got the wife to ok the Cavalier to go into the shop for Major work and mods to be done on the Exterior of the car! Here is what is going to be done to the car in the next 2 months:

Full Polyurethane Body Kit (Supplied by Shop)
Lambo Door Kit (Supplied by Shop)
Shave all 4 Doors (Supplied by Shop)
Pop Lock All 4 Doors (Supplied by Shop)
03 Maxima Headlights (Supplied by me)
R33 Tail Lights (Supplied by me)
Molded Trunk w/ Wing

Install:
Front Bumper
Hood (Supplied by me)
Fenders (Supplied by me)
Mold Maxima Headlights
Side Skirts
Mold Rear Bumper
Trunk
Mold Tail Light

This is Stage 1 of Modifications and I already have air ride set-up bought and more than likely will be installed by same shop during this 2 months as well.

Will be adding pics threwout the next 2 months of all the work.

Does anyone have any other ideas for the Exterior of the Car for Modifications as once this is done I will be sending it to paint soon after so nothing else will be able to be done after paint......

take out a mortgage

What can you expect to pay?? Go to some shops... and get some estimates. Cost varies from shop to shop, region to region, and varies on what kind of quality you're looking for.

Without seeing anything the taking out a mortgage idea sounds good. Depending on the above factors I mentioned, you could probably expect to pay enough for that work to either buy a "New" Cavy/Sunfire, even possibly upwards of a new Cobalt. If you're doing all those things, I'm assuming you want top notch show quality... so I hope you're ready to pay for top notch show quality.

I think You'd be lucky if the shop charged you less than $6k for all that, depending on how good the work is. Major customization shops would charge about that if not more. Again, there may be some shops that would charge less, but I paid $4k for my first paint job alone.

No paint yet. But wanting top notch work done for show because the wife is keeping the car. It is her first car and there is now way she is gonna get rid of it. Guy says he is gonna give us a hook up price for the work since I am going to be having him do all 5 of our cars. I will be posting up the total price tomorrow after I drop off the car at his shop!!

Hoping it is well less than 6 grand though.....Would need a second morgage for sure!!!

Wow what a nice comment you have supplied. Actually we have worked out a damn good deal. He isnt gonna charge me anything over cost on all the parts at all. He is gonna charge me just labor costs and costs of parts that he is paying. Total for all with labor and install is gonna cost me $3700. Dont seem like imma need any lub there. Ill let you keep it for yourself.

Now I know people are gonna start the "its gonna look like @!#$" or what not. But I will be posting pics as it goes along. So please lets stay on topic. I just seen an integra he did a NSX headlight mold on that looks factory. So I am hoping it turns out just as good for me.

wow take baggedvacs advice and do it yourself.

Not only do you save money, but you take pride in doing it yourself. But seriously 3700 is ALOT of money, when you could do all of that youself for so much cheaper.

Plus what is the point of having a car that is paid for. If you are goign to pay for customization why not just buy a better car to begin with.

Idk buddy

just DIY and save money, and at the end you will be proud of your car

im saying if you already have the lights then just buy the kit, lambos and shave kit and put everything on yourself. then you only have to pay him to weld the handles, install the new headlights and tailights and mold in the wing. everything else can be done by yourself in a day and you'll save money on it

I have no clue how it is gonna be molded. I am highly into body work. That is why i am getting a shop to do it. I am an audio guy myself. That is where I will save some money. Guy has been doing work for 8 years at his personal shop I have found out as well, so I hope he is knowing how to mold poly.

I'm confused by this . . .? If you're into body work, why have a shop do it when it can save yourself hundreds of dollars doing it yourself?

Lots of mods to be done, but I don't see the point of the R33 tail light conversion. We'll just have to see how it looks when its all done. I would tell you good luck, but thats up to the shop

Opps i put that done wrong. I am not into the body work at all.

The 3700 includes all the parts and labor together. I was thinking that was a good price.

I am trying to go with something new is why i am choosing the R33 lights.

Dayusex: We are doing the work on the car just so we can show it and have something fun. As for getting a better car. This is no either of our daily driver. She drives a RX8 and a Solstice. And I drive a SRT4 and xB.

When my car rolled into the shop for the urethane kit to be smoothed out and painted and the hood to have the eyelids glassed in and painted, I racked up a $3000.00 bill. I didn't PAY 3K, but if he wasn't one of my hook-ups, I would have.

With all the work you're having done...wow...good luck!!!

Jeebus people... why is it that everyone keeps telling people with body work and paint "do it yourself and save some money".??? Stuff like this you can't just "do"... you need years of training and experience, the know how... all that jazz. Next thing you know OTHER people will be commin in here AGAIN asking for an entire tutorial over the internet on how to customize their entire car not having any knowledge whatsoever.

it's not to bad of a price, so i say go for but check up on him and make shure hes not just screwing around about it, don't let it be another z2flip4

personally i don't do stuff to my car that i can't do myself (well exsept exhuast, don't have a welder), so i won't be molding different headlights or shaving door handles etc...

oh well g/l

by what shops normally charge it is a good deal. but, to me, paying 3700 is a bit steep. The most I have paid a shop is 2k... and that was for a complete color change and finish off body work. If I would have had them install my lambos.... do the body work from the beginning.. do my interior... install my body kit/widebody kit, I would have prolly been charged way over 5k. so what I did was install everything myself, then have them smooth everything out, I think it worked out pretty good for me since I save myself a couple thousand dollars that are now going into other mods. thats just my recommandation, do as much as you can youself, like install body kit, hood, trunk.. anything else thats not really hard to do.

Thank you

it all just depends on the person, some people prefer to do as much as they can, i agree there is always a point where you need to let someone step in but if you want to learn you have to get your hands dirty.

all i told him to do was order the stuff himself and put the lambos, fenders, and kit on. you dont need to know body work to install that stuff

Thanks for the support guys. I attempted to put a body kit on my old Eclipse with fenders. It did not turn out well at all! I went up there today and actually seen 2 of the cars he has done work on. Looked great. I was impressed. And with him supplying all the parts and labor for this price I am completely satisfied at this point. Plus he is gonna warranty all the work. Doors, popper, acuators, and any parts the such for a full year.
