i got my c.f evo style hood i jus want to know if there iz n e special thing that i need to do to paint it or would it be the same as painting a regular hood

its the same. cf is meant to be painted just like any fiberglass part
it paints the same as fierglass but why would you want to
I just ordered mine fro VIS like 2 days ago. They told me its out of stock for like 2 weeks so im just waiting for it to come. Im leaving mine just all CF
Uhh, why bother getting a "CF" hood if you're going to paint it? It's just a fiberglass hood with a CF overlay so you're not getting any signifigant weight savings. You should've just gone with a fiberglass hood.
Hmm lets see maybe he's only painting part of it?
Take a look at a hood like Gary Voyles's. Like it was said before, most carbon fiber hoods are for look more than weight savings, so when they are painted to accentuate a car, I think they look pretty sweet.
im only wanting to paint the sides of the hood on tha body lines and leave the rest c.f in the center that why im askin thanks for the help guyz much appreciated

I heard cf is lighter then fiberglass; and my vis invader hood is way lighter then my oem hood.

It is, however most CF parts produced commercially are actually FG with a layer of CF on top, so that it looks like a fully CF hood...even though any weight saving from a FG hood is minimal...
i love the look of a partially painted CF hood, but you guys that are complaining about it...its not your car, so why say anything?...04SummitCavi, definately want to see some pics of it when its done!

Now, a big company like RKSport for example, are their hoods the same way then?
As for getting a cf hood some styles are only available in cf. I haven't seen the evo hood in anything but cf. And as for the partial paint I can't wait to see it, I think it will look nice like that. I have heard that some cf hoods have a tendenancy to warp from engine heat, as antone had problems with the evo hoods warping.
