Interested in Grill mesh??
Monday, September 26, 2005 5:25 PM
Hello, I have gotten many comments from people in my area and a few emails from people on here about my grill mesh. I got a few scrap pieces from work for mine but with the interest I was getting I am going to check in to the price for a full sheet. Before I do that I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in buying some of it from me. I would sell it by square foot and I am not sure how much it would be. But it is aluminized steel and is a pretty thick gauge not sure what size exactly but its very sturdy and easily cut and formed. anyways let me know if you would be interested. Or have any other questions.
Thanks.

if you could get a big enough piece to fill up all the spots on my front i'd be interested. In front of the radiator and around the signal lights

well it comes in a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet so I think it would big enough to fill any holes you want. I will check to see what I would have to pay for a sheet tomorrow and post how much tomorrow sometime. I would just need the measurements of how much everyone will need once I get everything figured out.

That is one mean looking sunfire. I like.

^Exactly! I used galvanized (won't rust) masonry mesh from Menard's. I got a huge piece of it for around $6.00. It has been installed in the front bumper openings for over two years now and it still looks as good as the day it was installed, no dents, no color change, nothing. It is very sturdy stuff and it's very easy to shape as well.

No offense, but in my opinion the mesh in scott oberg's front bumper looks kind of cheap. Just my 02 though.

in the right hand corner of the below picture you can see a close up of it:

I got a 4' by 8' sheet of really good mesh at home depot($7.50). it looks really good. i dont like chicken wire, so it makes what i got that much better. its like a diamond pattern.

^Indeed!

Frank, don't get your mesh painted, get it powder coated. It will last a lot loner without getting damaged. Plus powder coating is cheap so it shouldn't cost very much at all.

TwiZtiD CaVy: Yep, probably the same stuff that Streaker1369 and I have .

i don't get why everyone is ragging on mine for being expensive when i never said any idea of a price range. I had access to it and had got a lot of questions about where I got it so I thought i would offer it if anyone was interested . but never mind not enough interest so i am not even gonna check into it. And no its not crap it is aluminized steel that is used on industrial heaters that reach temps in excess of 1000 degrees so its a lot better than your home depot stuff is.

As far as I'm concerned after reading through every single post in this thread, the above comment is the only one saying anything about money, so don't say that everyone was ragging on you about the price.

I, and probably most of the other people that have posted in this thread, understand that you were just putting an idea out there due to the interest you have received regarding your mesh.

I don't think making a post was necessarily the best way to go about checking interest in this. If you had people email you asking about your mesh then you should have just asked those people who had already said they were interested in it if they wanted to buy some through you.

I again read through each and every post and not once did I see a comment about your mesh being crap. I myself said it looked cheap which is something entirely different. I just don't like the shape of it. To me it doesn't look like real mesh that would come with a body kit or that you would buy from a big name company, which in my opinion makes it look cheap.

No one ever said the galvanized masonry mesh from Home Depot is any better or worse than your mesh. Just as Streaker1369 said, we were just trying to make people aware of other options.

In closing, you need to relax. No one was trying to attack you. If you're going to be so quick to attack people yourself, then you're not going to have a good experience on the Org. Just my .02 though .

I am relaxed I was not attacking any one but this post wan't asking peoples opinion on my grill mesh. I had some interest from some people and I thought I would put it out there for everyone to see and if they liked it they could let me know if they wanted some. If you don't like it or don't want it, this post was not meant for you and you should have kept to yourself instead of jacking my post. I also know that it doesn't look like any other mesh that comes with any body kits thats one reason I like it because its original and no one else has it.

If I were you I would have just mentioned something about selling it to the people who emailed and asked you about it in the first place. I wasn't trying to jack your post, as has been stated time and time again, I was just giving people other options.

I would hope you like it since it's on your car .
