I haven't seen a GMC Cyclone or Typhoon since like 15+ years on the road. I know they were limited production, but I havent even seen them at any car show's either. I remember one car magazine had a GMC Cyclone beat Ferrari Testarossa in a drag race back when they first came out. Has anyone spotted one lately??
Syclone
Spotted a Typhoon at a big cruise this past weekend....hate to say it a lot of people baby and keep them garaged, they really haven't lost value over the years due to the rare factor.
I'd kill to own a Syclone. Honestly I've wanted one since I was kid.
friend of mine owns a sy , and i see others out here from time to time
rarely see any ty's
theres a weekly meet here in town and there are 3 syclones that always go out there. ill take some pics this weekend if they show up

I NEED a 97-99 LD9 engine harness for an auto.PM if u hav info.!!
Theres was a guy that had a Syclone here in town but i haven't seen it forever.....
Awesome vehicles by far...... GM had some pretty sweet cars in the 80's.... including my fav.. the GNX
Saw one for the first time a couple months ago... a black Syclone (I think they only came in black?). It looked like an ordinary, lowered 80's pickup. The red "Syclone" on the side gave it away. Definately a sleeper!
Syclones were early 90's production. Yep, only came in black. Marlboro and GM did a couple red versions though which are the rarest, I believe only 3 of them exist?
The cladding is what should give them away if anything.....absolutely beautiful....I saw a glimpse at the junkyard a few months back that almost had me in tears.....thank god it was nothing more than a Sonoma GT (standard truck with the Syclone's appearance options)
believe it or not the GT is even more rare than the sy/ty's are
and they use the same body cladding , and had a slightly different tune to them than the regular trucks did
It was beat to @!#$, and don't recall much of the cladding being there, or any of it being in good shape. The front airdam is what caught my attention.
Eh, they may be more rare....but the drivetrain is the selling point for myself, not the bodykit

.
My dentist who has since passed away had a mint Syclone, quite modded though. Popped a couple 4.3's running upwards of 22psi and began swapping an S/C'd 383 stroker which kept the AWD and everything intact. Tranny was built by a big name in that scene to handle such power. No idea on how far he made it, or what had become of the Syclone. I knew his wife posted it up on the forums shortly after.
yeah the awd stuff is way worth having
My friend's ex just got a Syclone maybe 3 or so months ago. He's a tad obsessed, betcha can't guess what a large part of the break-up was about
cause he spent to much time with her and not his SY
my 92 GTA with ls1/6spd, and my buddies 92 ty
just sold my gta too.......wait for the pix of the 92 Ty, and the 06 TBSS
iv seen one in real life.. getting gas.. beat to hell. looked like someone used it as a farming truck.
they still go on ebay in that 15k range.
anyone know whats special about the awd system?
i always thought about getting a 4x4 model s10, and using the awd out of the astro van.

12.5@116 2.0 60ft
nothing special....700r4 out of a vette, and transfer case out of an astro van. thats it
theres a syclone up the street from me that ive been trying to buy for years he wont give it up.

Alexis: Dustin, you're ghey, lol. I am better. I have tits, and tits rule all.
you gave up that GTA for a tbss , shame on you
hope you atleast got the awd
The way i look at it, im doing the responsible thing. I have a baby on the way, so i needed a larger vehicle...TBSS ftw(even though my wife already has a 4x4 Trailblazer). It's not like i dont have another car....im building a 67 firebird with a turbocharged big ci LSX in it

So it was an easy decision to make. the gta was my dd anyway.
ps...its AWD
aren't all TB/SSs AWD?
LD9 F23 FTW!!
believe it or not, most are RWD....awd ftw

I always thought there were 5: 3 for the Marlboro Miles giveaway and 2 for the '91 Marlboro 500 in Michigan. Either way, the Marlboro trucks are simply un-freaking-real. Picture a Syclone with properly cut t-tops, leather racing bucket seats with 5 point harnesses, custom one-off (5 off?) wheels and sprayed in PPG Hot Licks red, complete with a form fitting bed hardtop with custom storage shelves for the t-tops.
Oh, and all that BS about the turbo/AWD crap too.
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
I was looking for a Yukon GT (just to look and price out) and saw a
Typhoon, and about had a stroke... $26,000 buy out on a 90's truck. It was immaculate though... very, VERY nice piece of kit.
At those prices though,
THIS is about as close as I'll get to one.
Damn, that Ebay truck is in beautiful shape...
There was 10 of them.
I'm not sure if all of them had a targa top though.
decent for a truck roof though.
