Ok, here's another dumb question from the guy who didn't see the "3" on his shifter >.>
I'm currently waiting on a CAI to arrive at my house, and I've heard lots of problems with the air filter getting wet, but it rains a lot here...what should I do? resell it and get a Short-ram or is there something I can do?
a true cai goes outside of the engine bay, even if that is what your doing you shouldn't worry about hydrolock.

long as you dont drive thru 2 feet water puddles youd be fine

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
thanks guys, I was kinda worried there.
if you keep it oiled you wont have a problem, i have used k&n on my off roader no problems, going in water 3 feet deep.
Just stay out of puddles! If you have to go through one go SLOW!
Well, I got it installed over the weekend.
It looks great. Had some issues getting it installed, and I still can't get the windshield washer bottle to fit back in there, but since I haven't used that stuff in a long time, I don't think it's that big of a loss.
My girlfriend honestly did a lot of the work under the car (I have trouble getting down on the ground, and moreso, back up off the ground), gotta love a car chick.
It hasn't rained here since I installed it, so I'm not sure how it'll handle it. I did wash my car yesterday and this morning it started up with no icky sounds or anything, so I take that as a good sign.
Like everyone else said, people worry about hydrolock too much. You have to completely (or mostly) submerge the intake to hydrolock the motor. Getting it wet will not hydrolock anything. My last car had the CAI filter about 4" off the ground with no splash guards and I drove that thing through some serious downpours at highway speed with no problems at all.
Don't try to ford a river and you won't have any problems.
