Hello i am a new member on Jbody and i am looking forword to see what i can do to my 2002 chevy cav. ls sport. i am wondering what would be your first modification to your car first? just wondering and trying to get ideas on what i should do first. but i am glad to be on the forum and look forward to see what i get back for feed back. thanks.
All depends on what you want to do.
You cant start with performance first or looks.
Honestly, what I would do is get an intake and lower it.
well i will proably be doing like the type j kit on it but that wont be for a while and i want to try and sell my rims from my other car to get new ones.thanks for the post.

^ he's right preformance or looks i personally went with a system as my first mod the nbought clear corners and a rk sport ss ram air hood then rims n lowering springs, a AEm ram air intake. It's all up to you don't let someone else build your car for you most ppl on here will critisize you for what your doign to your car best thign is to hold your head up and ignore them you'll see a quote on here alot " To Each Thier Own" go with your instinct n if it looks good to you thats all that matters
most start with an intake.
i started with suspension

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
for that Ss hood did u just use all ur org. hard ware like hood lach ?
Suspension huh? That's kinda expensive for a first mod... I'd go with a system or intake... and an oil change (unless you got it from a dealer)

had to start somewhere. $650 for shocks and springs to make car handle better or a $200 intake that gives you a big whopping 4 hp. that be a no brainer there

so it sounds like i should lower it first huh?
First $1000 I'd spend:
Struts
Springs
Rear Sway Bar
Front Strut Tower Brace
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
Id go for an intake, first good project to get you rollin', that was mine anyway
yes i did use allthe org harwear just swapped it over rom my stock hood my car still isn't lowered yet but liek i said i have the spring just don't have the $$$$ for the lowering struts & shocks id say get sum rims or it they allways make a car look 10 x better
i am tring to sell my old rims before i get rims for the cav. so if u guys know any one with a honda or a car with a 4x100 bolt pattern and live in wisconsin area let me know. i have motegi MRM raped in Falken Ziex tires 17inch brand new tires 98% tread left on them.

A system is expensive. Hell, mine was well more than my suspension.
