Just hears about this site so thought I would check you out. Looks pretty good so far, I drive a '03 cavi sedan. It's my black beauty! It's got the rksport dual exhaust, an ecu upgrade, and an aem cold air intake (blue). Also some sweet looking euro lights and 8000k Blue head light bulbs, if you want a pair cheap check ebay, I found some on there for as little as 8 bucks (13 with shipping!) Yeah so anyway, I'm looking for any body upgrades as well as any upgrades that will boost my power, so if you have any that you dont want or you know of some good places to shop let me know. Any body in or around findlay that wants to meet up some time, drop me a line, I dont mind talking to people, and learning new stuff is always good.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot that this site wasn't just associated in ohio...I'm part of one that's just for findlay and surrounding areas.

Not yet, I am working on getting some up as soon as I get my cai. that way I can post engine bay shots to. I feel so welcomed! At the site I belong to for findlay I am looked down on for supporting the cavi. There is only two cavi fans there, and we get bashed pretty bad. Only like 5 people know that the cavi is actually a good car. So, I am happy to find such an awesome site!

i wouldn't go so far as to say it's a "good car"...it's alright, even decent...but you couldn't pay me to own another one.

I said good, I didn't say awesome, terrific or the best damn racing machine money can buy. It's a fun little car that you can work on to surprise the crap out of people.

eh.

it's a grocery getter. much like my corollas were. nothing spectacular. it'll take a LOT of money to make one "fast." good luck, enjoy, just don't have delusions of grandeur unless you have the finances to back it up.

Yeah, I know all that. I don't want a 10 second car, I'll be happy with high 11's or 12's. I just want people to look at my car and go "Damn! Thats a cavi? But it's so cool!!"
Re: newb from findlay

it'll take quite a bit of money to get it that fast. Scruf's car has a TON of work done to it, and it's "only" in the 13s.

hell, I'd be happy in the 14's. I'm really going for a hey thats a nice car, and its kinda fast too. kinda deal. I've seen some cavis pull 8's consecutivly at a track. That was a pretty cool sight, watching a cavi smoke a supra.

yes, extremely fast Js do exist...but there are very few of them. shoot for making the car a nice daily driver, and i think you'll be working toward a reasonable goal. just remember, start from the ground up as far as performance is concerned: wheels/tires, brakes, suspension, THEN power.

Yep, that's the plan. The only power I was looking at was cai, otherwise this is the order I am doing things. keeping rims ( I think) buying nice low pro tires, buying 4 door ground effect kit, might lower it 1-1.4 inches, maybe a rear brake conversion, definetly a bigger break set up, good looking spoiler on the back ( no goofy big wing, something with style or nothing at all) detail and repain the car, decide on nice graphic set up (or none at all) the ss ram hood from rksport, and redo the interior. That should do it for me, was looking at a turbo, but I think I'll save fast for my next car and just make this one look good.

Yeah, any ideas for a project car. I was thinking stick with chevy, but I'm really not sure.

that depends on your intentions. what is your intended primary use? drag car? autox? rally? drift?

More along the lines of a mix. A drag, circuit, street race car. I have no interest in drifting, and probably not one to do autox...at least not yet. I am really looking for something that will end up with a lot of whp, great control, great acceleration, etc... Something around those lines.
