Heres my delima, I was pushing 19psi but am currently pushing 17. I should be makeing alot more power than I am right now. the power comes on strong around 4g and then slowly dies off. No knock retard at all. Intake temps around 75. now I still need a cam a better cylinder head build that has a good port and polish. I have a ho tb and roller rockers waitin to be installed. I havent dynoed it yet. but my 1/4 mile sucks because off bad launches. 14.3 at 106 was the best I could get before the alky with 110 intake temps. I ran my coworkers 01 mustang bullit and I was ahead of him till 4th then he started pulling. He dynoed at 245hp and 285tq. only thing added after dyno is a catless x pipe. with this big of a turbo and the psi Im at, he shouldnt have passed me at all. All my mods are in my reg and upto date. Im pretty sure the power dieing off is because my dumb ass got a 48ar exhaust but I should still be makeing more power. The only other thing I can think of is that I need to change my plugs they should be pretty crapy seeing as how there the ones I used to tune it with and they were seeing 10afr alot. but not now. and I kno street racing is bad. please dont preach to me about it. any input is much appreciated.

The stock cam definitely has to go. Your fighting an uphill battle right off because of the 2200 motor being so poorly designed in terms of power output. Get a cam designed for turbo applications, get a head that'll flow better, and get it all tuned up and you won't loose that power up top.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Also yeah a .48ar will choke out up top. I noticed it big time on my ecotec with the turbo cams... once I threw on the .63 it was night and day performance differences on the top end

Get a cam, port, and manifolds designed for intended RPM. Period.
*note: turbine is part of exhaust manifold*

only one problem no one sells an intake mani and I dont have the equipment to build one. Im trying to aquire a tig welder but till then Im sol. another q. how much power might I put down on the dyno. the last time I dynoed it was with an ebay t3 48hot/42cold, 45trim 15psi- 222hp 275tq no meth, and no hp tuners.

I would say your torque probably jumped a lot with the meth addition, but not knowing the tune I would say about 20-30 more horse probably...mainly because like you've stated, your top end is dead.

I didn't see it in your profile, but what size exhaust and downpipe are you using? That will have a PROFOUND effect on your top end, try to get 3" from the turbo back.

the tune is as good as you can get with hp tuners,12.2afr through boost. and I havent tuned with the meth. have not upped the boost, leaned it out and or added timming (15deg right now). my downpipe is 2.5" turbo back straight through mandrel bent with just at dynomax straight through race muffler. the top end isnt dead its just that it feels like It might be slowly coming down. Id say 15-20hp as going 4.5-6 grand.

222hp and 275tq to the wheels at 15psi?? WOW! Thats not much more than what I am pulling. I am using e85 fuel, not intercooled, at 10psi making 197hp and 268 ft.lbs of torque to the wheels. That extra 5 psi doesnt seem to be pulling that much extra for the added risks.

well that was along time ago with just the t3 turbo and a built bottom end at 15psi. and thats it. and I just installed my roller rockers and the ho tb and the power drop off is gone. Its soo much faster. the thicker head gasket was pulling the rockers away from the cam so now with the new rockers it fixed that giving me my lift back.

hmm.. What rockers?? I put in rockers on my car, but I also put in pushrods. Rockers were a waste of money in my eyes. My HP starts dropping after 4800 because of the cam and cylinder head but has good torque. I hit peak boost at 3000, peak HP at 4700, and peak TQ at 4300.

The stock bottom end is taking a beating at 17-19psi isnt it?? 110 intake temps isnt that bad. I am not using an intercooler and getting at least 155. Of course, thats the differnce between gas and e85 i guess. No spark knock. Good news is I have an intercooler now, just have to put it in.
