how does one measure intake air temperatures in your engine?
I see everyone talking about how low they get theirs... but how does one monitor this?
Also, how can you measure boost on the MP45 (GMPP SC for 2.4l)
I ran a boost gauge Tee-ed off a vacuum line before, but it screwed with things. is there a more accurate and les intrusive way to run a boost gauge?
my poor baby is sick... someone help me...
(2.4L engine in my cavy is ticking bad... need to make it stop)
You have an IAT sensor in your intake or intake manifold. You can monitor it with HPTuners or a separate temperature gauge (it might have to be programmable though).
I run my pressure gauge off of a T with the FPR vacuum line. Gives me the same reading as it having its own vacuum line.

yo wade....did you get my emails?
i got my boost/vac gauge hooked up....
what should the gauge be measuring off of the FPR when "idling" at 4k in neutral parked?
boost or vac?
I"m getting vacuum like a N/A car would...dunno if this seems right
You guys aren't alone. Every time I see that a new post was made by "ken soggs" I cringe.
Just messin with ya Ken.

Is it idling at 4k by itself? or with your foot on the pedal? cause if its by itself that is a problem, probally a vaccuum leak.
However im pretty sure you need to put load on the engine before it will start making boost. Try putting the car in drive, foot on the brake and give it some gas, the car wont move but you should see it start to build boost.
If you can't hook up a boost gauge then you shouldn't have boost in my opinion. Vacuum should be around 20 in. Hg. and altitude has some play on this as well. A simple T from any parts store will work and just make sure its the right size and doesn't leak. Also make sure you don't have any kinks or cracks in the hose going to the gauge. And if you engine is ticking like your post says, sounds like you have bigger things to worry about. As for a 4K idle, you need to figure out what the deal is cause something isn't right. Good luck diagnosing that one.
