I have my magnets of my jl's on the outside of my box facing the back of the trunk does anyone else do this? it seems to be louder

Reverse mounting your subs is pretty much a cosmetic thing. Sonically both setups sound the same. The reason your setup sounds a bit louder now is because you have removed the basket and motor of the sub from the box and given more free airspace.

they don't really sound the same.

you'll have a different sound with it facing in, because you'll be hearing a lot more of the sub making noise as it moves, which before you wouldn't here.

so sonically there is a slight difference. spl won't be affected though. it'll be just as loud
