I have a Sony Xplod CDX-MP40 cd player that im trying to put in my 92 Toyota Paseo. Now i know its not a j-body car, but i cant figure out how to install the cd player. See, the wires on the player harness have one more wire than the car harness and none of them are the same color, excpet yur basic Red/powr, Black/ground @!#$, Now my problem is that i cant figure out what the hell is what as far as the harness wires in the car. My book is missing so i cant see if it tells me in there, and both "Universal Easy Install" harnesses i bought dont fit the player. If any of u could help me find a site to tell me how to do it, or know howto do it and could let me know, i would greatly appreciate it. Im hopin to find a way to do it without splicin wires,....butifi need to, i have no prolem doing so.

i just checked out sony.com and the wire installation is the same as any other radio. with the red and yellow as powers and black ground and blue amp/ ant turn on. and the four speaker leads. do you have a wire harness that plugs into the factory harness? like a metra or scoche harness. if so they will be color matched to you radio, cause the stock toyota harness will not match the sonys. hope this helps. harness are usually no more than like 12 dollars and save you from hacking at factory wiring.
