So I recently replaced my fuel pressure regulator due to a ripped diaphragm well the new one rear between 55-60 psi on my furl rail gauge well I recently added a turbo and now at idle it's around 75 psi on stock injectors (haven't driven it just idles it to move it in the garage) weird issue? Think it will go away with bigger injectors? I need to install? I'm just curious if thte flash is compensating for the smaller injectors?
I'll put the 42lbs in tomorrow and see if that fixes it, it's an acdelco regulator
Sounds like it's vacuum operated regulator. Normaly these regulators use engine vacuum to assist in keeping the fuel pressure down. With a turbo, it may be acting in the opposite way... insted of a vacuum pulling it open, the boost is holding it closed, resulting in an increase in fuel pressure. Perhaps removing and capping the vaccum line will help, though it is really not the best way to solve the problem.
Your fuel injectors have nothing to do with fuel pressure at idle. Neither does the flash and/or computer. It is the job of the regulator alone to maintain a constant fuel pressure across the fuel injector. With that being said, it sounds like something is wrong. 75 psi at idle is way too high. Can you dial it down? Also, the turbo doesn't change your idle fuel pressure much if any at all. You should still have similar vacuum readings to a naturally aspirated car.
