Hello everyone, once again, I have a doubt lol
I went to autozone (yes thats as far as it gets here in Mexico with autoparts... and I was considering buying an air filter the brand is "spectre"(www.spectreperformance.com). They also sell pipping to connect the air filter to the engine and remove the blackbox and the plastic hose. Looking at the pipping:
null
I realized there is no place to connect the air sensor... I should connect the air sensor right? so I looked more and there is this piece that is used to fit the air sensor into the intake.:
Is this the proper and correct way of adding and intake? I know I should spend more money on this parts but this is my daily drive and as a student I cant afford much but I think this will help even a little right?. On the downside this will also decrease my fuel mileage right?
Thanks!
Anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac...
I see a placement spot for the MAF sensor on the second piece, but as for the IAT... Hmmmm, I dunno.
And for the record... Spectre makes "Dress-up" kits for hoses that slip over conventional hoses, not true braided hoses with threaded-nut fittings like Earl's does. And when I say dress-up, think tranvestite: Trying to be something it's not, and quite "gay".
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
you will need a rubber grommet, and drill the spectre pipe to fit the IAT sensor grommet.
But you can find better piping elsewhere, even a hardware store.
^Agreed.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
spectre's plastic
the coating melts off and goes into the engine

^ Like I said: Spectre is junk... Garbage... Crappola... Not worth the money. Get a K&N system and call it a day.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
ya but if you are getting that anyway, we sell it at our auto parts store and they make a iat tube with a grommet i wil get the part number if need be.
