If you had bothered to search you'd find a post by Rodimus Prime with exact directions on how to install the DIS-2 into your car.
The distributor can only be used with a Digital 7 ignition and won't work out well with the stock wiring AFAIK.
Nology Hotwires are crap. Trust me, I was the one who test fitted and helped design the setup for them way back when. They wouldn't take my advice and make it so you had cam sync like your supposed to so I trashed all the stuff they gave me and told them to get lost.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

thats funnie ur such a smart a$$ his link dont work why do you think i asked ?????????????
Why would you put a DIS-4 on a cavalier? Obviously someone doesn't know what they are talking about. Like Ryne said, DIS-2 and I think Rodimus' site is down for the install, I actually followed a write up PJ has on ecotecforum.com.

4 Cams...32 Valves...5 Liters...This Could Get Fun!
yeah i no its the dis 2 i shoulda stated that the only link i could find at the time was of the 4 thats my bad
this is the cam sync hes talkin about... idk wtf that other thing you posted is... im runnin my MSD DIS-2 successfully without seperate coils packs and without the cam sync... just gotta harless check engine light... thats all...

the electrical tape around the #4 plug wire was for the cam sync generator for the MSD, but it never functioned properly. I took it off soon after that.
the only downside to this is you get a CEL, and the car no longer runs in sequential injection mode.
I'm not sure what you posted for the cam sync.. i'm guessing that goes on one of the coil terminals, then to the cam sync box?
i'd say just ignore the CEL and ditch sequential injection (you can use HPT to turn off the CEL).
on a side note; ick those engine pictures look like crap. I'm glad I eliminated 90% of that junk.
If your interested I have a dis-2 with coils, plugs, and a sync generator I'm trying to get rid of for cheap PM me if your interested.

not to thread jack just a quick question. I have the dis-2 on stock coils so thats what it is wired for I have been considering getting the msd coils. IF i were to change to msd coils what has to be rewired?

I switched to the stock coils for a while but I'm switching back.
you just have to take the wires that goto your coils, cut them, and run them to the MSD coils instead, thats all. You also eliminate the need for one of the NAPA connectors since you only need one to interface to the ICM now.
I really need to fix up the site for all of this info its been down since dec, I will say this, teh camsync does work and eliminates the P0340 code if done properly

I'll be doing this set up as part of my winter project. So a full write up would be great.

what exactly does the sequential injection do? any performance/economic gains or loss with it not runnin in sequential injection

you will get @!#$ gas mileage not running sequential compared to what you would otherwise, honestly its so easy to fix that 340 code its not worth NOT doing

ahh... gotcha... so if i have this right in my mind, the cam-sync from MSD should fix that?

Good info. Needs a good write up though
yes the cam sync will work
