after removing my old header i notice that one of the metal lines on the steering rack has been rubbed right through by the header. it connects to a plastic ring on pass side rack and i cant see where it goes to on the drivers side. its not threaded so im sure it doesnt hold pressure, but i have no clue what its for???? i would like to take care of it before i put the new header in. any help is appreciated.
If your brakes don't go out (Hey, I don't know how they run those lines on a J-bod so I can't say) Then it's for the low-pressure PS fluid return (Most likely).
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Pretty sure you-re talking about the crossover tube that equalizes pressure in the bellows boots, it should connect from one boot to the other.

exactly....it would be REAL messy if it was a fluid line.
