i read in another thread that if you were to bore the 2.2l eco 20 over then you would have to replace the crank, and rods with the 2.4l eco crank and rods. just trying to clarify this because no one ever responded to it in the other thread. thank you for the help.

No you dont. All you have to do is get 20 over pistons. Are you aware that the eco is a sleeved block? Where you cylinder bores can be removed and replaced. There are over bore sleeve kits available.

im getting ready to build my ecotec soon how far can you bore the stock sleeves?20 not too far is it?

typically a 40 overbore (or 1mm.. since its a metric engine) is the limit, then you would have to have the cylinder sleeves replaced.

darton sleeves let you take it out to a 90 or a 92mm piston I think (stock is 86mm) but it ain't easy to have those installed and they ain't cheap
