i have a header and pacesetter cat back...the only stock item left is the cat...if I install a magnaflow highflow cat or sumthing like that will there be a noticable gain? and what about gas mileage, any better?

no. there's really no difference in the restriction of the stock cat and a high flow. only difference being the diameter of the pipe. thats where your difference will come from.

The inside of the stock cat is bigger then 2.25", so if you had your exhaust shop chop off the pipe from the cat, and weld the o2 bung in your new pipe, it would have the same effect, but save you a nice chunk of change.
so it really wouldnt do me any good to go and spend like 100 on a high flow cat?

not at all, if you can remove the pipe ends on your cat and weld on pieces of pipe that are the same size as your current pipe.

I have the pacesetter too. It will sound good as long as your cat is intact inside. Its not as throaty as I would like, but its smooth sounding.

Depending on the year of your car and hows it been run the stock cat could become clogged and less flow passes through
Wouldnt hurt to replace it
its an 01 w/ 70,000 miles

if you're set on replacement, i've recently completely redone my exhaust, and
this is the cat i used. been a month, several highway runs, as well as short stints to work and back, no CEL, its available up to 3", in ceramic or metal core.

i already have the cel light...it happend when my buddy put my exhaust on...i think that it might have sumthing to do with the egr valve..cuz he like plated it off or something...but when my other buddy hooked it up on a comp, h etold me it said low 02 activity...so i bought new bosch 02 sensors, and still no luck....would i have to get my codes reset after i installed the 02?
