I am just curious are ld9 owners envious to the new breed of GM performance 4 cylinders
I gotta admit I love my ld9 but I am feeling the new design of ecotecs and the aftermarket support.
one thing that sticks out in my mind is the friction free camshaft setup .......ya know the rocker arm setup
and the aluminum block for the lightness.
It's a great engine with a ton of support and blah blah blah, but that doesn't make me like my LD9 any less. The Quad Family of engines had one hell of a run and there are a lot of parts available still to make them perform. I also tend to find that in the Quad people are the true fanatics, not saying there aren't some crazy Ecotec people cough cough Ben Wenzel, and PJ, but Quad4Forums make the EcotecPower board look dead.
yes...EVERY SINGLE LD9 GUY WISHES HE HAS AN ECO....genius...
i'm feelin ya. i love my LD9 that i'm building right now. it's going in the car in 3 months which i can't wait for. and i know that when i get it in the car i'll most likely drop all thoughts of eco power. The LD9 is just so...@!#$ power hungry. ecotec = women...haha
also stock eco's can't take stock V6 5 speed firebirds where as the LD9 can.
I've owned 3 LD9's, not one complaint.

It is. Ecotecforum.com however is very lively.

and I'm gonna love my new LNF even more

Yes it is. I have read a few of them, and they seem to get no where.
Eco has more after market support and they still make it. LD9 has the ability to use 2.3L parts and makes about just as much power.
From all I have read It comes down to the fact that they still make the eco.
I'll keep my Lead-9. You can keep your Economy-TEC.
