i know this has been discussed to death before.
but here is what im wondering...
i understand the differences between the physical attributes of the pipe.
i understand the cosmetic differences in the pipe.
but my question is... has anyone ever measured the difference in flow?
has anyone ever flow benched these different types of pipe before? really the main argument here lies between mandrel and crush bent pipe.
most people dont know what pinch bent even is ( rather then a crushed inner side of the pipe in the bend, there is only a pinch on the inner side of the pipe, usually one at the begining and one at the end).
so, i have tried to search for info on this for about the past 2 or 3 days and have found nothing other than " its rippled, so it flows less" arguments. well, how much less does it flow? im not expecting it to flow the same amount of exhaust gasses as a mandrel bent pipe of the same size and degree of angle, but how much less will the crush bent pipe flow?
i know there are some members on here with access to a flow bench, so maybe they could take it upon themselves to do the testing... for the benefit of the rest of us.
really, if there is very little difference in the flow rate, i am just gong to go with the 2.25" crush bent pipe rather than mandrel. getting these mandrel bends for the exhaust shop to work with has provent o be a pain in the ass and expensive.

I wish I had a Bob's muffler near me! Bob is the man apparently. The muffler shops around me are such a joke.
There is a lot of great info on that site. Maybe ill make an exhaust sticky. It pretty much outlines all the questions that are asked over and over again. What do you guys think...
