Mystery Part, oooooooooo

Hello,

As some of you know im rebuilding a head for my ecotec all motor build. I have 2 low KM heads and when I was disasembling my second one a part fell out. I dont know where it cam from but im hoping someone can tell me:

In other news as well If you remember from my last thread I chipped the crap out of one of the caps. The machine shop that I took it to said that it was still usable and they would simply smooth it out. The divits would only cause some oil to pool but there would be no adverse effects. I decided to air on the safe side and simply use another head that I have with an un-damaged cap. Apparently it wouldnt have been a problem.

Hmmmm, does it sit in some sort of a hole or something? For the life of me I cant see where it would have slid out of the casting. Maybe I should crack open a manual now that I know the name.....

It is the cam chain tensioner, look in the GM build book you posted in my thread and it will show you where it goes.

Beau sucks. Skwirl ftw.

I don't have much else constructive to contribute.

Yeah, they are actually heads that are off scrap cars, I got them for next to nothing, I was just worried it was a part that I couldnt replace from another motor I have (ie that cap above).

You dont need to send me the cap anymore I just used the second head that I have....thanks though!
