Push comes to rod: How much length is enough?

Time for 'Dimer to chime in again!

Okay, folks! Here's the $1M question: When using aftermarket rockers of a higher than stock ratio in the LN2 / OHV 2.2L, what is the most suitable length to have the pushrod be to obtain proper geometry? With stock springs? Anyone?

Did a search, found: 3/8 x 7.400-7.650" w/ .080" wall. So, "Nevermind!". Though I would like some clarity, so how 'bout it guys?

the length of the pushrod should not change simply because you changed rockers... only head/deck milling, and grinding the cam would effect that

Also, remember that everything in your motor has tolerences. If you want the most suitable pushrod, you need to measure.

Yes, but is the ideal geometry to have & how do I check for it? And just for reference, I'm talking 1.6 rockers.

You need to mark the top of the valves (where the rocker presses on it), and adjust the length of a measuring pushrod until it wears the proper area. http://www.compcams.com/information/Products/Pushrods/

Thanks for the link, Notec! I'll print out what I see and follow it.
