Just port the HO manifold to match the 2.4 head...

why doesn't it seal? was material add on the bottom of the port to bring it up to the ld9 port on the head.

it wont seal because mantapart did a real crappy job trying to match the ports on the Ld9 head, so now all it will do is disrupt the air flow dramaticly

Maybe you don't understand a HO manifold does not match AT ALL to a 2.4 head. Yes it will bolt up with slight modifications, but the ports to not line up correctly. It has always been known. You either have to do port work on the manifold and head to get them to match, or use a adapter flange (like the one Chris Fontana sells). People for years have ran the HO manifolds without any work to the ports and the manifold seals up with a gasket, but will not line up like it should. Some say doing that is still better than a stock 2.4 manifold ( I do not agree).

yes i know the ports wont line up but see the issue was before i ordered the manifold from mantapart I clearly ask if it was going to have the 2.4 flange welded on and they said YES. well it didnt and they did a crappy job of trying to port match it

I don't know how much money you have invested in the one mantapart messed up but it sounds like your best bet would be to go junkyard hunting for another manifold. Clean and prep the new manifold and order an adapter flange from Chris Phontana in the group purches section of this site. I'm pretty sure he will send you EVERYTHING you need to install it minus you having to alter a couple of bolt holes with a drill. I'm going to order one from him pretty soon so I can put my manifold on.

From what I've heard....Mantapart is a crap company, I wouldn't do any other buisness with them exept for trying to get reimbursed for them screwing up your manifold. (Just going from what I've heared over the YEARS on this site)

yeah i dispise mantapart now cause now they dont want to take responsibility for their actions. As far as the manifold at the junkyard, there are no HIGH OUTPUT engines around here, only LO's

I've got an LO that I havnt even started cleaning yet. I doubt there would be any more power gains to be had going with the HO over the LO, so I went with the LO because it was really easy to get one. Plus it will be a little easier to paint and thats always a good thing.
