maybe the wrong place for this but here goes...
got a new radiator on the way and im looking at flexalite fans..thing is i cant find out how much air the stock fan pulls to compare it to( cfm i guess? ) i know could just go dual fans and forget about it but id rather skip the wiring issues and just install a new single fan that pulls more air...anyone know how much the stock fan pulls by chance???
anyone?? maybe could suggest a good brand? all ive heard so far is flexalite...any other brands good??
I posted this over in the GP...

This is what I got http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/Autoloc/detail.lasso?itemid=ZFB16S 16" 3000cfm , it has flats on 2 sides so it fits right in the 15.75" gap of the upper and lower rad. supports. Just cut the factory wires and crimp/solder some spade terminals so you can unplug it if you need to.

i saw that..i was just trying to avoid the dual setup ..me and wiring dont get along..so im looking at single fan setups that have a higher cfm rating..any suggestions?
no...Gary the old guys link is for Zirgo, by autoloc
they have a 3000, and a 3300 cfm single fan.
I asked Zirgo about them, they said they can be made plug and play for hook up on the car, as long as your cars cooling fan circuit can handle 25-30 amps. I dont know off hand if our cars do, or if a fuse replacement is all you would really need to make it that much (hopefully not larger gauge wire or anything).
Also, do you know how are fan gets its 2 speeds? Does the fan recieve like 8v for low speed and 12v for high or what???
I also asked the zirgo rep about that, but he said you should be able to keep a 2 speed fan also if it works like mentioned above.
But Zirgo does offer better flow numbers than flex-a-lite, and also has easily upgradable motors, incase they come out with a higher powered motor in the future....
AWSOME .. i was looking at zirgo fans but didnt know if it was a great brand or not...so i can still hook up the dual fans on the existing system without wiring in more relays as long as both fans dont pull too many amps right?
Actually the stuff I was looking at (the 3000 and 3300 cfm) are single fans. I was going to go single, dual speed fan, cause I think my turbo setup might interfere with having 2 fans, and I think you would need to upgrade wiring, because you would need 25-30 amps for EACH fan....so 50-60 amps total for dual fan (another reason I am going with single).
I wanted the factory connection because I can control the fans through the computer (via HP Tuners), and get much better and more accurate cooling than the temp switched they sell aftermarket.
the last thing i want is for wires to start melting..if i can get a RELIABLE 3000cfm single fan that doesnt pull too much power ill probably just go with that..should be fine, especially with the new radiator...which fan you looking at???
Im looking at the same one that has a link above (from gary the old guy)....you can find those on ebay decently cheap to, but all the info on them is at that link.....as well as the rest of the zirgo line up, but that one seems to be right for me at least.
Watch the ones on E-bay they are worded to sound like it's a Zirgo fan and controller or something like that. But when you stop and read the description it says Zigro controller with blah blah blah fan.
I just called Zirgo directly and ordered the fan from them $99 plus shipping ($18).
BTW; That fan is rated to pull 10 amps.

sounds good guys..looks like i found the answer to my fan problem

u guys are great..one more question though..i see things listed like "universal mounting bracket" for the fan...ive never mounted a fan that wasnt oem..how will these mount to the new radiators from the GP ?? just curious
