Intake questions/ Removing old/Installing new

Ok when taking the stock intake off today, I was wondering what that tube is thats plugged into the airbox above the throttle body? Then I drove my LD9 around with a tube connected to the throttle body with a filter on the end of the tube. The o2 sensor wouldn't reach the intake tube so I just left that unplugged , After about 3 mins of driving the check engine light came on. I left the plug above the throttle body unplugged too

I drove for awhile with light on just to see what the intake would be like it. didn't notice much and seemed more slow than stock. sooo

I went back home and put the all the stock intake parts back on plugged the o2 sensor in and engine light is still on?

also tried to put an obx header on but found out that the whole exhaust is going to have to come off to put the header on. I plan on having a pipe bent and tricking the o2 sensor after the cat so I can remove the cat.

What is a resinator in an exhaust system for?

has anyone had problems with the obx clearing the firewall?

Try and make something better and end up making it worse

that would be your IAT, not your o2 sensor. that is supposed to be in the stream of incoming air at all times, in order to make sure to put enough fuel into said airstream.

it should clear itself after a while, or you could got to advance auto parts/autozone to get the code scanned for free, and clear it as well.

this is a good idea. have it all put on at once.

DO NOT DO THAT. not only is it a FEDERAL offense, there is NO performance gain to be had from doing this.

it essentially takes the high pitched, raspy, annoying tones out of your exhaust. make sure to get a PERFORATED core glasspack, such as a thrush glasspack.

that, i couldnt say.

disconnect the negative on your battery and make sure everything is plugged in. wait about 15mins and reconnect the negative and it should clear up...
