update your profile so we know what your running. i would also love to see a dyno sheet because 148whp with a n/a 2200 is damn near unheard of.

"tenzo r header, k and n typhoon intake, magnaflow spun cat, magnaflow 2.5 into 4 inch tip, shaved and ported head with msd ignition" and you said it was 148 without the nitrous

yep after it was tuned on the dyno thats what it said, belive me man i about @!#$ my pants when i seen the numbers cause the 2200 ohv's were like 100 whp for the sticks cars stock, the whole exhaust is 2.5 too

The paint job looks cool but I don't know about these numbers even with a shaved and ported head.

I don't care what the dyno sheet said a 2200 with an intake, header, exhaust, MSD, and mild head work with some bigger then stock heavy wheels wont come anywhere near 148 to the wheels. Its not possible.

Do you have a vid or a printout of the dyno numbers?

I dont know if i believe this either, but Id love to hope so! Im getting a ported head soon, and i have a few more mods than you do... but Id like some more solid proof to win me over.

How much was the head ported? valves? how much is it shaved? head gasket?

This would be like me saying mine puts down over 190hp to the wheels. And I can demolish ecotec cars. Yet i've never gone to a dyno to prove this, nor has the car hit the track yet to hit a time to prove it.

Though in my case, it's actually likely that I could have over 190hp to the wheels. And grey bumpers.

SHOoff..your profile shows a 3400 swap...im guessing the 16.xx 1/4 runs were with the origional
?2.2L? right...as well as the pic of 7800 rpm on the tach...and did it take it?

^^ the rpm gauge is prolly from the swap, there still having a problem with the gauge working with the swap.

either that or he maxed it out while idle with the v6.

3400 ftw.

and as for this thread. dumb. dumb. dumb.

ive seen way to many of these threads to even dignify with comment. btw my 2200 stock put down 800 whp and 1200 torque. suck that ecos

Yes, the 16.xx runs were with the 2.2. I even had a 15.8x but it never got posted.

Yes for photoshp.

And no, the 3400 wont rev that high. The rods will break past 7000.

with those mods the skwirl dynoed at 115whp back a few years...

what did you use to tune with?

148whp at the wheels is a bit hard to swallow for the OHV.. especially since you just joined and nobody knows you.

with fuel tuning i could see maybe 130 at the wheels.. but without cams I don't really see that happening and you didn't list any.

so.. sorry but i'm going to have to call

My stock 2200 hits 170whp.....it blows away my dads eco. jk

maybe you misread the slip......104.8 whp

One day i hope to squeez 180 out of my 2200. But College disagrees with that dream in the near future.

Dude there is no way you are putting down anywhere near that much HP with those mods, maybe i your dreams but not in this world. Hate to say it but I have a WHOLE heck of alot more mods then you, and higher compression and I don't expect but about 140 whp from my 2200.

I have spent alot of time and money working with the 2200 trying to build a mean N/A one. and when you are telling me you are putting down almost 10 more HP then I figure I am putting down with little more then simple bolt-ons, sorry but I have to pull the BS card.

Personally I would think the 2200 w/ manual tranny may put down about 100-105 stock.

If true - it pretty impressive.

And yes I do belive it very possible to get 148 whp out of N/A 2200. I just think either that one incredible PnP job on the head or there's a few other things that have been done - like increase in CR, ported TB, hi-performance fuel injection system or hi-perf cam.

To break it down - if you start with a base whp of 100, then figure 15 for exhaust (header, cat & catback), plus 5 more for the intake, 5 for the MSD, 15 whp for the Pnp Heads, 8 for the performance cam. Then the total is about 148 whp. But that's just a guess of how it would be possible.

^ Yea but you can't just add numbers together and get an estimate. each mod will in turn help or hurt power numbers if they dont work well together.

Re: 2200 ohv 148 whp

True - which is why it's called a guess.

Btw - i was just using those number as an example of how it's possible for the 2200 powered car to reach 148 whp - not as an actual case of someone reaching 148whp, Note: in most cases I didn't use actual brands names for the products.

You need an actual Dyno test to see how all the parts actually affects a car's performance. Without it - it just a best guess - anyway.
