VW Rabbit/Jetta with the 2.5 Liter 5-cylinder has to be one of the slowest stright line cars ever... seriously we had a customer complain that he looked up 0-60 times an the Hybrid Prius was faster LOL.

there aren't many cars it can beat

86SVO is dead right...way too heavy.

i like the new GTIs. my friend bought an 07 bout a month ago. new ones are a huge imporvement over the old. for a stock car they have good performance, handling, etc. and a hatchback...which can be very handy.

Skwirl..isnt it time to leave the 15 second cars alone?(well unless theyre really askin for it)...running low 14s you should be shooting for stang GTs, LT-1 F-bods, maybe even stock LS-1 autos...

my cousin has the new jetta gli and i got him by a bumper once and stayed right next to him the other time. this was from a 40 roll all the way up to 90mph then shut it down. we went once from a dig and my front bumper was at his rear door. so yea the new vws arent all that great IMO

na I never start trouble but I always manage to finish it =P

i'm tired of the car in its current form anyway.. its slow. I want more power.

If ALMOST beating a VW Rabbit boosts your ego.....I can't do much for ya buddy....there won't be much deflating it if it's so easy to boost.

From the sounds of what I have read above, you should have beat him, and you need to learn to drive... GTI > ego ???

The new rabbit is too small and cramped IMO and i'm only 5'9" or so.

The new GLI tho is absolut fun. Don't knock one till you've driven one INCREDIBLE. Havn't driven the new GTI yet, but its basically the rabbit with the 2.0T motor.

People need to keep in mind tho that the 1.8 is the predecessor to the new 2.0 so you can expect a lot of performance in upgrades out of them for cheap.

as for the 2.5, treat it like a Quad 4 and turbo it.

Come on guys! Listen to this dude. He almost won, which as we know means nothing to any racer, any real racer...

To deflate your ego.... it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning.

Sorry if that was dumb, but the set up was just way too easy not to use the worst movie ever for a burn. No?

Because his headers weren't headerin' right, he had a virus in his computer and wasn't double clutchin' like he should.

when i say almost, i mean i didnt get a dead stop run with him. i kept passing him, and he couldnt keep up. but the one time he passed me, i couldnt keep up either.

and to all the h8rs---get a freakin life. ive been on this board and modified more cavaliers than you've had years in your life. i didnt break 65-70..i was on a street. im no moron, and i dont live by the fast and the furious, assclown.

for a 2200 to beat ANYTHING but a civic in my opinion...well...i got excited. its a damn slow car, even with the CAI, header, and exhaust...those things dont do much, im well aware...which is why i was so shocked i did so well against a car with 35 more horsepower than me.

and my car is a sedan...curb weight on my car is about 3,000 plus my fat 270 lb ass...his driver weight was easily 70 lbs less.

thanks for deflating my ego...and making me remember why i keep scarce from this board, along with all the other members who actually know some sh*t.
