I bought a chrome 90 deg. elbow from Autozone ,to finish my W.A.I. about 5-6 mos. ago and today i pop the hood and it's cracked all the way thru,anyone else experienced this?Is it the heat or just cheap junk?

think thats bad huh? i used the same elbow on my CAI in my 95 cav with a 2.3 HO quad 4 about 6 months ago..the elbow cracked..the intake filter turned..dragged the ground...IN A RAIN STORM..end result? bent rod ! my advice is to stay away from those plastic intake parts at auto zone

what is it made out of?! plastic? real metal tubing, chrome plated, couldnt possibly crack from underhood heat...so ill add my vote to cheap junk.

im sure he did the swap to the 2.3 HO but when i bought it i didnt care about the flashy chrome i thought it was metal like the rest of my intake if it is plastic it shouldnt have cracked like that,at least i would think it shouldnt but im takin it off and modifying the stock rubber tube to take its place,it'll work for now

after my engine locked up i had to pull the plugs to get the water out..and after it started back up it sounds like this
