I'm a big believer in using as many "stock" parts as possible in a build-up. For one thing, you know they're made to last, for another they can be found in a junkyard. You usually hear about aftermarket hot-rod parts for cars here, but what about stock parts that will bolt on and crank out more power? I've heard that the earlier cam for the 2.2 OHV bolted onto the 2200 can give you 5hp. I'm sure that a Camaro throttle body (or something similar) can bolt right up. What about injectors? Any larger capacity injectors from say, a northstar, fit on the 2200?
What are your "Recipes" for speed?
the cam thing is wrong, because the timing notches dont match. one member found that out the hard way....
camaro throttle body....questionable.... theres about 3 posts already on the first page dealing with 56mm tb. take time to read the FAQ and posts already on the first page.
in stock form, the stock injectors can handle anything you plan to throw at it. they arent anywhere NEAR maxed out. why would you need new injectors, simply up the fuel pressure.
the biggest recipe for speed, is doing research and gaining knowledge on the parts you already have, instead of looking for all these changes, of which many dont exist or do not work.
the quicker people learn the limitations of their current stock parts, the quicker people will know what to tune and what to leave alone, and how to increase the basic 3 that usually need to be done for power to increase,.....fuel spark, and air.
