in the near distant future the cav will be receving a RB26DETT power house implant thus making it AWD!!! hellz ya, i know it will alot of fab work but it will be worth it. ideas, comments concerns?
by the way for those of you who are tuner illiterate, the RB26DETT engine is the twin turbo skyline motor out of the 7th gen skyline GT-R 34 V-SPEC

Exactly when is the "near distant future"? Is that newspeak for "never"?

FACT: If I had a nickel for every time someone claimed they were going to do some crazy engine swap, install a turbo, install a supercharger or "build the most bulletproof 27523634672HP motor EVAR!!" I would have retired a long time ago.

There are 452 members with "swap" in their future mods.
There are 203 members iwth "boost" in their future mods.
There are 494 members with "supercharger" in their future mods.
There are 1597 members with "turbo" in their future mods.

Of those 2746 members, the smart money says that less than 10% of them even START their project, let alone finish it.

As Darkstars said....first build, THEN brag.

oh yeah one other thing... SKylines are rated a what 280 hp? 280 hp + AWD is far form overwhelming power....

Re: power overwhelming

OH OH OH I GOT YOU ALL BEAT!!!! RIGHT NOW IN MY NEAR DISTANT FUTURE I WILL HAVE A MCLAREN F1 ENGINE INSTALLED IN MY CAVALIER. I'm going to put the engine in the trunk and make the car AWD and do a twin turbo with s/c!! But here is the cool part im also leaving my 2.4 in the front to push the front wheels and so that the 2.4 can keep up with the F1 engine I'm going to tt the 2.4 with 200shot dry and wet NAWWZ!!! All cf body and 22" rimz!!! GET A LIFE!!

My car has two speeds, fast and faster.

hey i said in the near distant future, its like 4 grand for a skyline motor and tranny and ecu. and as far as i know i hav never seen anyone even attempt anything like this!! so all the people out there hatin on me can eat acidburn's shoe. and for the retarded haters like sunday night peg city, i have 2 things to say to you. actually do some thing to your car before you bash on other who want to do stuff to theirs and second off do some research so you dont look like a complete ass...........................................ummmm too late. and i asked for ideas and help, if i wanted to be pick on i would drive a civic amd go back to middle school

Word yO, where's dem pics at? This is August, not May or June, or July FTM. And why would you spend $20,000 on a Cav? Or should I say waste, since the TT RB26DETT only pushes out 280 HP. For less than half of that, I could buy a car that pushes out more power, and still have $10k to piss with it and make it push out upwards of 5-600 horses. Sure, it's never been done before, but that's not enough to justify a $20k swap in my book. Not that I or anyone else really think you're gonna do it, but that's beside the point.

1st that comment really does aply to us, I have plenty done to my car, if you want to mod your car awsome, more power to you.... when you say a AWD twin turbo 6 cylinder is what your doing your full of @!#$.... you know how many people have said they are going to do FWD V8 swaps, and thats sticking with everything in the GM family.... something that is highly highly unlikely and NOONE has fallowed through with it.... your claims are even more unlikely. Noone is gonna believe anything thats outlandish untill you do it and have proof because simply put... noone has done it and noone is going to do it, that includes you. Prove us wrong, then run your mouth.

and the second part of that..... that doesn't make sence.... we shoudl do research so we don't look liek asses... what research? what are we surpossed to be looking up? there is nothign to research reltaed to this.

no, look up bull$hit, cuz thats what hes feeding us.

and those who have done research on the j-body have cars that back up that research. why get an awd system, you really want to lose 20% of your hp to a awd system thats not even 50-50. why import some jdm part and put into a cav, your better off making it just rwd with a small block. you can get a turn key 350 for 4500 with a 383 stroker pushing 450hp. With all the fab work your definately looking at 10k+ to complete. Even if you do complete this your looking still at maybe 14 sec 1/4 mile, not impressive-save some money and buy a used srt-4

...but when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object,
evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty,
to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security...

Well... if you had the "know how" to pull off this swap, you would not be asking others for their ideas, comments or concerns.

Re: power overwhelming

ok enough being nice. Notice to all @!#$s, i said i planned on doin the swap, i didnt say that i had already done it. second i was telling some people to look up what the motor was. and FINALLY i was i wanted to do it, i never said it was gonna be cheap, easy, practical or even possible!!!!!!!!!!! BUT its something that i want to do and if you pricks cant support some one who shares the same passion for cars, the same love for something unique the you can screw off. i know alot of people want to swap their cars over to ecotec motors. well if they want an ecotec, then why dont they buy a 2003-2005????? especially considerind the ecotec only pushes 145 stock. and ya so what the rb26dett only pushes 280hp well guess what, that almot double what my car has now. and as for the power loss to the awd, oh well @!#$ happens, ill trade 60hp at the wheel to get the kind of hole shot that awd's are capable of!! the skyline motor can also be pushed to well over 400hp with out breaking the bank too much. and as far as just buying the skyline, IF I HAD $80,000 TO GO AND BUY ONE THEN I WOULD, the whole swap would cost less than $8000 including the cost of the motor, trans and ecu. and seeing as i only payed 8000 for the cav to begin with that brings the grand total to 16000, still a hell of alot less than a skyline. so for all the people who want ot help and not be @!#$s please feel free to post your ideas and suggestions for all you @!#$s out there, shut your face
