i have a 95 sunfire and i just bought a brand new t3 turbo. ive played with the idea before, and ive finally decided to do it. I know everyone was talkin bout machining the intakes, yadda yadda yadda. but wouldnt it be just as easy to change intakes to the 98 and newer? what all would be invovled in it? im gathering everything i need to turbo my flower this winter, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. any other performance mods that i can do to the 2.2 ohv would be greatly appreciated also.

The '98+ 2200 use a differnet port design, they won't line up. Your best bet is the top feed conversion. To do this you'll need a plenum spacer and machine the intregal fuel rail to fit the top feed fuel injectors. Then use a 2200 fuel rail and injector harness(just unpug your injector harness and plug the other harness in) and adapt the fuel line to fit the 2200 fuel rail. The purpose of the plenum spacer is to get the needed clearance to get full throttle .

I'm currently working on a plenum spacer for my 2.2L(for added plenum volume). It is beeing made from wood for testing purposes, but if it works successfully, I'll be getting one made out of aluminum, posssibly selling them. There have been a few others that have done this convesion successfully and may be able to get these spacers made for you, or you can make your own. Do a search of both the boost and performance forums for more info (i've got to get ready for work).
