i was wondering if anyone had any pictures or any better instructions on how to install rksports dual exhaust setup on an 04 cavalier. i have magnaflows instructions but they don't tell you where to mount the mufflers, i need to know if i need to drill new holes to mount them to or if there are exisiting places to bolt them up to. i also need to know what size bolts to get to attach to the cat. thanks
I thought mine told me where to mount the mufflers, it should come with all the hardware you need. No drilling is required, but the hardest part is dropping the axle to put the pipe over it. The bolts you use to attack it to the cat are the stock ones, just resuse those. Don't expect to have your mufflers line up though. Until I had a shop weld mine up, they hung low and crooked.
This pic is the best I could do without welding.

Hope that helps.

The bolts to the cat a threaded and the flange on my straight pipe is not, so i thought i would need new bolts, and is the install any different between our systems because mine has the canister style mufflers not oval. where did you bolt the mufflers up to?
I'm pretty sure the RK Sport and Magnaflow are the same thing. If your flange isn't threaded, you may have to have the exhausted welded anyway. The left muffler bolted up to the stock location, and the right muffler is basically a mirror image. If your flange isn't threaded, take it to an exhaust shop and see what they'll charge to install it. I doubt it'll be too much. You're better off with them installing it because I had ground clearance issues when it was all just bolted on.
Consider this: if you plan on buying a header, and hi-flow cat, take it all to the shop at once and save in installation costs.

The RKSport doesn't have a hanger on the muffler. The magnaflow does.

That kind of sucks, so he'd have to get it welded then right?

I don't know about welded. But...there should be a 'hanger' of sorts to bolt it up to the rear bumper. It kinda sucks.
Wrong. Hangers are better than welding. There needs to be movement in the exhaust, but the way RK has the hangers, sucks. If the hangers were correct, they would slip into a rubber shoe, persay, that would keep it sturdy and able to move.
