I think it's gone... I've had small coolant leaks at the front and back of the block since I installed the supercharger.... now I've got no power at all, misfire code P0300, and feels like there's a cylinder or two missing....
I've never done a bad compression check before... now when I put the tester on cyl 2 or 3, I get a hissing sound, and it only gets 100 psi... on #1 or #4, it's 210 psi... Sounds like 2 and 3 are leaking into each other to me... but I'm not sure.
I could try re-torquing the head down.... but it's been a lot of miles since I put the motor together, and I figure it's probably done for....
Ideas?
100psi= no bueno.
I guess you could try and retorque the head. Worth a shot, right?
replacing the gasket is cake work. replace the gasket and torque the studs nicely and u should be cool

Here we go....
Spot on the back of the supercharger, where the coolant has been spraying out.
Ah well, I finally blew something up

What head gasket were you using?
Fel-Pro. Won't be, this time... back to good ol' GM stocker...
Ah well, got the head off... and it's blown out between cyl 2 and 3... but everything else looks to be OK.
Tomorrow, assuming I can find a head gasket (I've got a new GM one sitting here... not sure if I want to use it or not tho).... and some head studs or bolts..... then I'm good to go!!

Good @!#$ Johnny. Was hoping you didnt need my LD9 since the flakest dude ever finally picked it up today.
Oh man, I am getting nervous I just got done on the final engine assembly of my new motor and I used a felpro. I did not think they sold GM ones.
And who says a head job is easy in a 2.4, its a biatch unless it out of the car.

yeah head gasket is blown , like a 5.00 blow job
get the head checked out , just to be safe
I haven't uploaded the pics to my web server yet.... too busy working on the car, and now I'm at work
I cleaned it all up, put a new GM (stock) head gasket on, because it was all I had available other than buying a new Fel-Pro (as you can tell, not terribly impressed with them!). Got a set of new Fel-Pro head bolts, since no one around here stocks ARP head studs... so far I'm out a total of $45, plus the two days work... and it's still not back together. In time.... maybe tonight... I'm driving Erin's Neon at the moment.
I would take a Fel-Pro over a GM stock head gasket for a LD, any day. Sorry that happened.

I agree. When we first got the Reaper it had a blown head gasket, but would still run. no visible signs on head damage, while waiting on parts we decided to have it checked, 3 bad valves. 2 bent, but only could see once out of the head. Glad we had ti checked.
