2 Questions:
1) Does it actually exist? I haven't seen anyone with the race block itself.
2) If you own one, is it worth the money?
I'm looking at building a motor from the ground up and wanted to know how well it's made.
The only Ecotec race block I ever saw was previously offered by Jeff at ImportBuilders. The blocks were VERY well put together. But he does not offer them anymore due to poor sales of the Ecotec platform race parts.

GM MAKES ONE TOO.......KINDA PRICY BETTER TO BUY AN ENGINE FROM THE YARD AND HAE A MACHINE SHOP COPY THE RACE BLOCK. ALL FROM THE BUILD BOOK
Yea i spell liek wrong get over it.
So could I still get Jeff to build one for me? Do you think he'd be interested, or would it not be worth it?
And is there a structural difference between the block, or is it just especially...clean?

Send Jeff an E-mail and ask him if he'd be interested. Knowing him and the way he typically runs business, he might not want to do it without setting up a group purchase or at least be sure that he will sell a few of them.

The stock ecotec block is good for 800hp+ with new sleeves.

^^ I'm not saying the ecotec block isn't durable. Because it definitely is, very well put together. I just gave him the info he wanted

Shoot me an e mail if you want... I can get any of the GM Racing blocks for MUCH MUCH MUCH less....
It will have a rasied deck, new sleeves, tapped for bigger head studs and main studs... and it will have a bore of 3.400 or 3.500 of your choice.. if you want a different bore just let me know... also the block will be o-ringed as well.
props to Karo!

Karo, I'll take you up on that offer - all I'll need is a quote atm, trying to gauge costs atm.
Jeff said that he's swamped and can't make any more atm, but he does have sleeves.

there is nothing wrong with the factory eco sleeves.

Titanium has a tendancy to gall horribly when coming in contact with steel. So unless the rings were coated, the sleeves were coated or both it would be a bad thing. And plus, Ti sleeves? $$$$$
If you want mor than 800hp, you will need new steel sleeves.

@!#$. hahns running 11s with a stock block and gm made around 600-700hp on stock sleeves. there is no reason for any street drivin eco to get new sleves.
