exhaust burning bumper!

I Have the Rksport type J body kit and magnaflow exhaust and its burning the bumper! The exhaust is touching the bumper and heating it. Its turning black underneath and melting the Urthane. Has anyone cut out around the exhaust to solve this problem? does it look good or silly? I dont know how to fix this! I don't really feel comfrable trying the bend the exhaust downwards... what should I do? Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks

You could either cut around the bumper which is risky OR take it to an exhaust shop and have it lead downward or cut the piping back so it's not close to it. Mainly, your solution is by taking it to a professional at an exhaust shop and they will modify it properly.

i have this same problem. it was like that when i bought the car, and i still havent replaced it. it melted 2 brackets underneath and now it sags.

my advice is to gently bend the exhaust pipe downwards. you only need to go like 1 inch or so. no need to pay a shop 25$ to do it.

not that your advice isnt great NJHK

My friends bumper on his Cougar actually caught on fire because of the muffler touching the bumper. You may want to get that fixed as soon as you can.
