I just put in in sort of like how it was.

The fat side on the stock is where the Fat side on the aftermarket goes.

I didn't think anything of it.

I put mine in Saturday afternoon, and the widest part went into the back, and the narrower one in the front, i have the RKSport one though, dunno if its the same or not. I also used some oil on the polyurethane part to help it slide in (was about the only thing i could find at the moment. Tell ya one thing, the Vibes are pretty good like everyone is saying, but im getting used to it.

Well it matters a little

For the RK like the one piced, the smaller bushing (on the left in the pic) goes in the back.
Meaning, the aft most area.
Those with Karos, aka Prothanes also know this area as to where you take the hammer abd bang for 5 hours to get it to sole in.

Its hard to tell from the pic, but the smaller bushing is actually longer than the fatter one.

Just hold the two monuts a top one another and you'll know which way they go for sure.

But for sure, for the one piced above, the smaller, longer bushing is rear most.

Not only that, if you try to but the right larger side in the rear, there will be space between the bolt holes anyway so you nkow it goes the other way around.

Have fun,
-M

if you want performance, you have to sacrifice some comfort. when i had my camaro the whole car shook when at idle, and i cant wait to put my mounts into my cav, but thats just me, i like to feel motor.

this is my sig

It's worse in an automatic car than it is in a manual car, due to the torque at idle. But... it's not like your whole car vibrates out of control. I've always gotten plenty of interior vibration, dash rattling slightly. But the way the motor will seemingly "run rougher" with the solid mounts, in addition to my Comp Cams 1.6 rockers, people ask me all the time if my car is cammed.

The vibes aren't that bad from the beginning, after a week or so I didn't even notice them anymore. Then after I put my new clutch in, starting out in 1st is where you can notice the most vibrations. But the driving experience is much better now.

Bump I have the same mounts (U&L), and I got the upper in just fine. However, I have not been able to get the engine-side bolt out for the lower mount, and its rounded now.
I don't have a 13mm socket, so I used 5/8 inch - it worked for all other bolts just fine. I spayed 5 heavy applications of WD-40 on the bolt too, but nothing. Broke my locking pliers on the bolt too

Does anybody know if I can get a new bolt at AutoZone/Pep Boys/etc? Or is it something that I need to get through the dealer? Anybody happen to have a part number for it? I'd like to just cut/grind this one off, but I need a replacement bolt first since my Cav is a DD right now.

You couldn't even break the bolt loose with an impact? Did you try the lovely torch? I'd go through the dealership on this one, a bolt of that importance and size... yea... lol. Or the dealership could possibly give you the measurements for the bolt and you could go find one at a hardware store, provided it's grade 8 hardened steel.

I coulda swore it took a 15 mm..

I just put The prothane(Karo) lower mount in on saturday.
There is only one way it would fit. And Yea did a little hammering on it to get the bolt holes lines up..Nothin major took about a half hour start to finish

Vibes are present. The car starts easier. If i'm driving up a hill in fifth and reving at less than 1500 rpms then it boggs really bad which i dont like

First off, they're 15mm bolts . Secondly, undo the bolts from the wheel side. On the engine size they are nuts that are welded to the engine mount bracket.

It works so much easier when you just go to http://www.teamforwardmotion.com for the installation directions.

I remember doing my lower mount with a long socket and a pipe over the end of it for extra torque.

Me and Chad (fasteco) have had a few conversations about the "vibes" issue. We came to the conclusion that each car is different. Each standard car will shake differently than another standard and each auto will do vice versa.

My vibes are not all that bad, takeoff is a little rough but I'd rather feel the vibes, that way I know my engine is pulling and not rocking around my engine bay like a crazy bastard.

I have Karo's lower mount on my 05 'fire... the only time I knotice the vibes is when the engine bigs down from being in to high of a gear for my speed... Hell! my girlfriend hasen't even noticed the vibes, and that was here biggest complaint in my old auto Cavy...

Another thing I have knoticed is if you don't torque down the bolts enough when you install the dogbone, the vibes are ALOT worse...
