I just swaped my old engine for a newer one. Now im having a problem starting it. It turns over and gets fuel but no spark. I checked the crank position sensor and the fuses for tLe pcm ( unless there are some hidden somewhere ) The coil pack is good cause i put it on my roommates car and it fired right up. Any suggestions? oh btw is a 2.4L.
Is your theft system light on?
NEW SIG COMING SOON FOR 07'!!!
no but is there any other way to see if its on. i installed a full security system with remote start on my car. the theftlock 2 bypass sends the resistance code to the computer. that should still be the same resistance since its the same computer right?
what year is your car and what year is the new motor?
02 and 02. its wasnt any newer but i put a LOT of miles on my other engine. quite a few spring break trips
some cars have a code to re-learn or reset the the computer like turning the key on for 2 mins off for 5 on for 2 then start. do cavaliers have something like this? other than for resetting the passlock 2.
the engine could be a 01 possibly. if so could the sensors be causing the problem? i have my old sensors from the other block still. the new engine was from a grand am.
i just swapped out the crank position sensor and the cam position sensor and still no luck. the only sensor that is on the engine that isnt from the old engine is the temp sensor on the back of the block. the old intake and exhaust manifold and throtle body are on the new engine. can anyone help?
